Most adore it, some are less-than-impressed with it. Whichever camp you belong in, Swee Choon is venturing out of Jalan Besar for the first time in its 59-year history, and is opening its doors at Century Square, Tampines. I don’t know about you, but Swee Choon holds many memories of post-club suppers and late-night hangs for me, so this excited Eastie is really looking forward to it coming to our ‘hood.

Swee Choon Century Square features a 40-seater dine-in space, and will have its pre-opening on 30 July 2021. The outlet will be open from 9am to 11pm daily for walk-in takeaways during Phase 2 (HA), and 9am to midnight once dining-in resumes.

I’m already anticipating scoffing down the usual dim sum favourites like the Mee Suah Kueh (S$2.60 for 2), Rice Roll with Prawn (S$4.20), Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun (S$4.80 for 3), Har Kow (S$3 for 2), and Congee with Minced Pork & Century Egg (S$3.60).

In celebration of Swee Choon Century Square’s pre-opening, they’re holding a Top 10 Promotion from 30 July to 1 August 2021 for walk-in takeaway orders. This means that the following top 10 favourite, best-selling dishes will go at S$2 each:

  • Char Siew Bao
  • Siew Mai
  • Glutinous Rice with Chicken
  • Minced Pork and Century Egg Porridge
  • Rice Roll with Char Siew
