If you’re in tune with the Instagrammable cafe scene in Singapore, then you’ve most likely heard of Brown Butter Cafe for its fairy tale-like interior adorned with flowers and nearly everything pink. Those flowers, however, will stop blooming on 5 Mar 2023 as they have announced their permanent closure.

The news was posted on both their Instagram and Facebook pages, which marks the end of the 3-year-old cafe. Brown Butter Cafe are from the same people who brought us The Benjamin Browns and Hana Japanese Restaurant. The closure is done to make way for the expansion of its sister restaurant, Hana Japanese restaurant, located just next door.

When we reviewed the place back in 2020, we enjoyed their Salmon Mentaiko Cheese Toastie (S$19). It had a generous amount of mentaiko spread on a toast. Hidden under the spread was a layer of fresh aburi salmon and melted cheese.

We also had their Insta-worthy Fish Bowl (S$20). It had delicately plated avocado slices that formed a circle with salmon cubes, pickled cucumber, seaweed, sushi rice and tobiko taking space in its centre. We ended our meal with their Cheesecake (S$8.50) that was in a cartoon-ish cheese wedge shape straight out of an episode of Tom and Jerry.

The menu has only expanded since we last visited. There are rolls available in flavours such as Classic Lobster Roll (S$32) and Cajun Grilled Prawn Roll (S$22). You can even opt for savoury waffle options like the Triple Cheese Chicken (S$24) or Cream of Chicken (S$23).

Apart from the decor, their milkshakes are also known for being photogenic with their toppings oftentimes being decorated around the rim and on the body of the jug. Some of the options include Fairy Pebbles (S$16) and Unicorn (S$16).

It’s time for one last fairy tale lunch before they close for good in Mar 2023!
