Butter tteok is everywhere right now — and for good reason. Also known as Shanghai butter mochi, this Korean-inspired baked treat combines the crispy, buttery edges of a cake with the soft, chewy bite of mochi. Made with glutinous rice flour, it’s rich, stretchy, and lightly caramelised.
If you’ve been looking to try the viral snack for yourself, here are 4 spots in Klang Valley serving up butter tteok.
1. Chomps

This Bukit Jelutong home baker has been gaining traction for its salt bread, and now their newest Original Butter Tteok (RM10 for 3 pieces) — crispy outside, soft and chewy in the centre. Chomps operates through limited preorder slots several times a week, with pickup available in Shah Alam and delivery around Klang Valley via GrabExpress or Lalamove.
