Most people associate Song Fa Bak Kut Teh with its signature peppery pork rib soup, but the brand has taken a different direction with Crave Pot, a new concept that has recently opened at Northshore Plaza in Punggol.

Rather than putting bak kut teh at the centre of the menu like Song Fa, Crave Pot focuses on familiar Singaporean comfort dishes served in individual portions right in Punggol. It’s a different take from what regulars might expect, with classic flavours like Black Bean Sauce, Gong Bao, Sambal, and Ginger & Spring Onion making up much of the menu.

Choices range from chicken, pork, beef and fish to prawns and frog, with prices starting from S$7.50

Some of the dishes on offer include Black Bean Sauce Pork Cartilage with Bitter Gourd (S$10.90), Sambal Seafood (S$13), Gong Bao Prawns (S$11.90) and Ginger & Spring Onion Fish Slices (S$8.90)

There are also soups such as Herbal Chicken Soup (S$8.60) and Pork Ribs with White Radish Soup (S$7.90) for those after something lighter.

Side dishes include Fragrant Garlic Fried Pork (S$6.90), Crispy Red Fermented Beancurd Pork (S$7.90), Silky Steamed Egg (S$2.80) and Braised Pork Rice (S$2.80), while drinks like Hand-Punched Lemon Green Tea, Lemon Red Tea and Mango Sunset Red Tea rounding out the selection.

Having earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand for 8 editions (2016 – 2019 and 2021 – 2024), Song Fa is already well established for its bak kut teh. Crave Pot, on the other hand, offers a different menu altogether, making it a notable addition for anyone curious to see how the brand is expanding beyond its signature dishes.
