Calling all fans of the hit manga and anime series, ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’! On 24 Jan, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Total Concentration Exhibition opens, allowing you to step into an immersive gallery featuring installations and interactive experiences. Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect at the exhibition.

Report to the Demon Slayer Headquarters

Demon Slayer exhibition Singapore - entrance

The moment I approached the venue of the exhibition at the Former Singapore Sports Hub Library, I knew I was at the right place. Full disclosure — I have never watched ‘Demon Slayer’ or read any of its manga before. But visiting this exhibition helped me appreciate the hype behind it and made me curious enough to try giving the anime a shot. I can imagine real fans of the series would enjoy this exhibition even more.

It is also hard to miss this exhibition, even if you did not know it’s underway. Giant inflatable versions of some of the main characters from the series sit outside the exhibition entrance, inviting passers-by for photos with these cute displays.

Once inside the exhibition, you will be met with even more Photo Spots. Some areas were even created and labelled specifically for this purpose, so that you do not miss any opportunities for an iconic photo of your own.

One of the Photo Spots will put you into a pose similar to the main character Tanjiro, recreating a fiery scene that looks straight out of a frame from the anime. I highly recommend going to this exhibition with friends, so that you can take photos for one another. But if you’re visiting this exhibition alone, feel free to approach some of the friendly staff for assistance.

Enter the world of Demon Slayers

Demon Slayer exhibition Singapore - installation

No spoilers, but I was quite impressed by the detailed sets and displays inside this 2-storey exhibition. There are real-life recreations of famous scenes and locations from ‘Demon Slayer’, complete with dynamic elements like lights and screens. This includes scenes set in a train, a house, a classroom and more.

Demon Slayer exhibition Singapore - Hashira Training

There is even an interactive challenge where you can undergo 3 levels of Hashira training and earn your stripes as a Demon Slayer. This digital game utilises your smartphone and tests your speed and reaction time. If you complete all the levels as I did, you will receive a Certificate of Training. That’s right, I am a certified Demon Slayer now.

Appreciate the work of artists

One of the main highlights of this exhibition, which you would find throughout its entire 21,000 square-foot space, is the artwork behind ‘Demon Slayer’. From sketches and concept art to scenes from the anime. and even character portraits and Nichirin sword displays, you will find walls and walkways full of ‘Demon Slayer’ lore.

This exhibition honestly feels like a love letter to the series and its creators. And even as a newbie to ‘Demon Slayer’, I was impressed and intrigued by the passion and attention to detail.

Bring home a piece of the Demon Slayer Corps
