Robot vacuums are no longer novelties — they are expected to be functional appliances, cleaning effectively and autonomously. Yet, most of them still need a babysitter to untangle hair from their brushes and air out smelly water tanks. The ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 promised to be different, promising “perpetual cleaning” and independent self-maintenance.
If you are about to splurge on a robot vacuum, read on to see if ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 delivered on those promises and is worth the money.

My experience with the DEEBOT T90
Robot vacuum designers put a lot of emphasis on physical appearance. And rightly so — your robot station will probably occupy a fairly prominent everyone-can-see-it position, especially if you live in an HDB apartment.

For that reason, I love the wonderful fabric-type finish (see closeup above) of both the station and the robot of the DEEBOT T90. This warmer, less ‘industrial’ look and feel is exactly how appliances should immerse themselves into a home.
The top edge of the robot itself is just 95mm from the floor, an incredibly slim silhouette considering how much technology and hardware is packed inside (read on). Of course, the natural advantage of this floor-hugging profile is its ability to slip under furniture and other obstacles.
The ‘soft’ approach continues on the PowerBoost station with its rounded edges, a stark contrast against the brushed metal look and angular lines of the DEEBOT X series.
PowerBoost station
Beyond the looks, the T90 station focuses on what ECOVACS calls Perpetual Cleaning Power. It fast charges with the same Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology used in high-end laptop chargers.
This gives the robot a 10% battery boost in just 3 minutes while it’s washing its mop. That’s a lot of vague facts and figures, right? All you need to know is that no matter how large or dirty the floor may be, the DEEBOT T90 will never run out of battery power. Instead, it will keep itself perpetually charged until the job is complete.
I also appreciate the evolution of the internal maintenance system. ECOVACS applies “Fresh-flow” power washing that uses pressurised water heated to 75°C directly on the mop. All the resulting dirty water is siphoned away immediately, keeping the mop clean and dry.
Coupled with that is the redesigned wastewater tank; it features a built-in propeller that prevents sediment from settling at the bottom.
These 2 features work together to keep both mop and tank free of entrenched dirt and grime, which gives other robot vacuums that stale ‘damp mop smell’ over time.
First dibs: ECOVACS DEEBOT X11 OmniCyclone climbs, self-charges & super-mops
DEEBOT T90 robot
The robot of the T90 has received a supercharged update. It now can produce 30,000 Pa of suction power at an airflow rate of 16L/sec. If you’re not an engineer, picture it as the equivalent of a hockey puck creating a hurricane.
ECOVACS’s BLAST (Boosted Large-Airflow Suction Technology) gives this robot enough raw muscle to pull fine dust out of the deepest carpet fibres that your old machine has probably been ignoring for years. Whether it’s on hard wood or deep carpet, nothing is left behind.

Less technical and more visually impressive is the TruePass mechanical 4-wheel-drive system. It can clear isolated thresholds of 24mm and even steps up to 40mm. Watching it navigate between rooms with high transitions was like watching a tiny off-roader; it doesn’t get stuck, and because the wheels operate with independent suspension, it maintains its cleaning path regardless of the terrain.

For those of us with pets or family members with long hair, the ZeroTangle 4.0 brush is a lifesaver. It uses airflow-directed tech and anti-static bristles to suck hair straight into the bin rather than wrapping around the brush. The photo above is of my T90 after about 10 days of daily use. There literally isn’t a single hair stuck in the roller.
Cleaning to the very TruEdge
I’ve had vacuum robots leave a ‘dust line’ along my walls but the T90 did not. It uses TruEdge 3.0 where the roller unit doesn’t just extend but also uses a continuously variable air-cushioned system to maintain zero-distance contact with baseboards and corners.

However, I have been most impressed by the massive upgrade to the mopping system with the OZMO ROLLER 3.0.
The mop roller is now 26cm long — 50% longer than previous versions — which effectively doubles the cleaning efficiency in mop-only mode. However, it’s the self-cleaning that makes the difference. The roller is constantly washed with on-board fresh water while it works, so you aren’t just moving dirt around.
Even the AI has matured. The new AGENT YIKO acts as a personalised cleaning manager, learning your habits and adjusting how it approaches obstacles via AIVI 3D 4.0. It knows to give pet waste a wide berth while getting as close as possible to a chair leg. There’s also an on-board camera that allows you to monitor your home as the cleaning progresses.
Final thoughts on the DEEBOT T90
When I reviewed the top-tier ECOVACS DEEBOT X11 OmniCyclone in Oct 2025, I loved its revolutionary features but one of my biggest concerns was the S$1,700 price tag. Launched a few short months later, the ECOVACS DEEBOT T90 has adopted many of those same features but retails for just SS$1,099.
This much more accessible price tag could just be the thing to turn sceptics into believers.
