Quick Summary

Grumpy Bagels has opened its second Kuala Lumpur outlet at Sentul Depot, occupying the restored Diesel Room of a 120-year-old railway building known as Grumpy Bagels 1905. The article highlights the heritage setting, familiar bagel-focused menu, heartier plates and coffee offerings, alongside the spacious layout and merchandise corner. It is best suited for diners seeking a relaxed brunch spot that balances comfort food with a distinctive historic setting.

Grumpy Bagels has officially opened its second outlet at Sentul Depot, and it’s one that’s been a long time coming. After first teasing the project in Oct 2025, they welcomed its guests on 1 Feb, marking a new chapter set within a restored 120-year-old building.

Known also as Grumpy Bagels 1905, the outlet is housed inside the historic Diesel Room at Sentul Depot — once an electrical workshop used by railway engineers.

Spanning close to 4K square feet, the space has been reimagined into a warm, well-lit cafe that blends heritage architecture with a cosy farmhouse-like feel

Exposed brickwork, wooden beams, and soft oak tones are paired with tall windows framing the greenery outside, bathing the space in natural light throughout the day.

Despite the new surroundings, Grumpy Bagels hasn’t strayed from what it does best. The menu mirrors what regulars love from the Jalan Kamuning outlet, offering over 13 types of bagels that range from simple, chewy classics to generously filled savoury and sweet options.

Familiar favourites include the B.E.C Bagel (RM32), stacked with a house-made chicken sausage patty, over-easy egg, cheddar cheese, and gochujang aioli, as well as the Classic Lox (RM36), finished with smoked Atlantic salmon and scallion cream cheese.

For those after something more substantial, there are heartier plates to choose from. The Tuscan Roast Chicken (RM34) comes with herb-roasted chicken, rosemary gravy, and mashed potatoes, while the Grilled Cheese Bagel (RM30), served alongside their signature spicy tomato soup, leans into comfort-food territory in the best way.

Coffee remains an essential part of the experience. Their house blend is a go-to, especially in the morning, while drinks like the Dirty Matcha (from RM17), Rose Latte (from RM16), and Yuzu Matcha (RM18) offer something more colourful.

The Sentul Depot outlet also offers a little extra to explore. Pastas are available for a more filling meal, and a small merchandise corner stocks postcards and other Grumpy Bagels memorabilia.

If you’re on the lookout for a recently-opened brunch spot in Kuala Lumpur, Grumpy Bagels 1905 at Sentul Depot definitely makes a strong case. The cafe offers a moment of pause from the city’s pace — a place to gather, unwind, and enjoy good bagels in even better company.
