Loyal fans of Hae Hae Prawn Noodles might already be in the know — this beloved prawn mee eatery has temporarily shuttered its only outlet at Prinsep Street as of end Jun.

This stall is not to be confused with similarly named establishments like Hae! Mee or Hae! Prawn Claypot. Hae Hae carved out its own fanbase with comforting bowls of prawn noodles and exceptional service, all at hawker prices despite its chic, bistro-style vibe.
The reason for their closure is simple: the team did not renew their lease. While no further details were given, rising rental costs in town, especially in centrally-located areas like Prinsep, could be a likely cause.
“F&B has been very challenging, but your support made it all worthwhile”, reads their post dated 29 Jun, announcing the eatery’s closure. And support they had indeed. Hae Hae boasts a glowing 4.9-star rating with over 200 reviews (at the time of writing), a testament to its loyal following.
Their menu included a basic All Prawns (S$6.80) bowl, served with your choice of noodles from yellow noodles to kway teow. Other variations include with Pork Shabu (S$6.50), with Lala (S$7.80), with Imitation Abalone (S$7.80) and more, all doused in the same robust, naturally sweet broth.

Oh, and a newer Hokkien Mee (S$6/S$8/S$10) option that was slowly gaining traction for its umami-packed flavour and fresh, juicy prawns.

Beyond the food, Hae Hae was also praised for its service. A separate bowl for prawn shells was always offered, and even when customers ordered just 1 canned drink, the staff would bring 2 cups of ice for pairs dining together. Small gestures like these are truly what make up the dining experience.
With its impeccable food and thoughtful service, it’s no surprise that netizens are lending praise to the stall and expressing their sadness over the closure.

Wherever or whenever Hae Hae Prawn Noodles’ next opening may be, here’s to this humble but formidable prawn mee spot making a strong comeback!
