I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but there seems to be a growing trend in Singapore’s F&B scene involving seafood claypot places. Adding to that list is Hae! Prawn Claypot, nestled within Bedok Industrial Park that serves charcoal prawn claypot.

The new stall is operated by Ashley, whose parents own the renowned Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu franchise that has several branches all over Singapore.

Adopting a hotpot concept, the Specialty Prawn Broth (S$28.80) is placed over a burning inferno of charcoal. In there, you’ll find 8 massive prawns doused in an umami-rich prawn stock that’s not only meticulously simmered for hours using prawn heads, but MSG-free as well.

And the best part? They offer not 1, but 2 kinds of unlimited soup refills: Prawn Broth and Pork Collagen Broth. As some customers may find the broth overwhelming and jelak over time, the Pork Collagen Broth is offered as an alternative.

The prawns are the epitome of freshness, sourced directly from a local fishery port and delivered daily to the stall.

To complement your hotpot experience, take your pick from a wide selection of seafood such as Signature Prawn Paste (S$10.80), Handmade Hee Kiao (S$8.80), Fish Maw (S$8.80) and Fried Sotong Pieces (S$7.80).

Meats like Signature Marinated Beef (S$9.80) and Handmade Pork Paste (S$9.80) are also sliced and marinated in-house from their central kitchen. You can enjoy a variety of deep-fried goodies such as Fried Chicken Wing (S$3.20 for 2 pieces), Fried Wanton (S$5) and Fried Hae Zho (S$7).

There’s also a sauce bar right beside the stall with 12 varieties of homemade dips and condiments, where you can customise your own unique dip.

It’s fun time at dessert with the DIY Smores Kit (S$9.80). When you’ve finished dinner, the staff will get the claypot out of the way, and you’ll get to grill marshmallow skewers atop the leftover charcoal that’s still burning.

The set comes with marshmallows, chocolate, biscuits and an instruction card to guide you through the process. Enjoy the outdoorsy campfire experience right at the eatery (well, sort of).

During lunch hour, the stall also serves their rendition of dry Hae! Mee (S$9.80), catered to patrons who are in a rush and have no time for a time-consuming hotpot sesh.
