Frequent cafe hoppers would be familiar with the clean, elegant, and white-filled decor of %Arabica. The popular Japanese chain has fans all over the world and still draws queues regularly even years after opening. However, most of us admit that it is quite expensive—so if you want a similar experience at more wallet-friendly prices, consider going to the new Haven Coffee.

This new coffeehouse located at Tanjong Pagar is similarly dressed up—in dreamy shades of white and earth tones that make it a minimalist haven for all fans of understated decor. And to make things even sweeter, this swanky new cafe is run by a former %Arabica barista, good news for ardent fans of the Japanese coffee chain.

What’s worth mentioning is the price point here, as compared to the slightly steeper price range of %Arabica—Haven Coffee’s drinks typically range from S$4.50 to S$7, which is rather reasonable.

So if you’re up to sip on some coffee with an exquisite white backdrop, you can get choices such as Black (S$5), White (S$6), Mocha (S$7), and Dirty Matcha (S$7). Matcha fans can also get their dose of tea fragrance in the form of the Uji Matcha Latte (S$6) or the pink-accented Strawberry Matcha Latte (S$8).

But if you’re not a huge fan of caffeine, Haven Coffee also carries some baked goodies from the popular Bakehaus. You can get some of their brunch and pasta selections including the Scrambled Eggs Croissant (S$11), Avocado Scrambled Eggs Toast (S$16) or flaky French pastries such as their signature Kouign Amann (S$6).
