It comes as a shock when a place you’ve been frequenting for years suddenly moves. But that’s what Hup Seng Duck Rice on 22 Sin Ming Road has decided to do.

A poster on Can Eat! SG posted about the relocation to Blk 36 Sin Ming Drive. Looking up their new address, it is located in an industrial area. The same poster had additional information and mentioned in the post that the move would be happening on 5 Jan next year.

No further details have been disclosed, and as Hup Seng Duck Rice has no official social media page, we will have to wait and see.

There have been customers leaving reviews that they have been eating at Hup Seng Duck Rice for 20 or even 30 years. Regulars have enjoyed their Braised Duck Rice (S$5) and praised the tenderness of the meat along with the stall’s wallet-friendliness.

Diners could even get a Whole Braised Duck (S$42) or Half a Duck (S$21) if they preferred. The Braised Meat ($5 for a plate, S$42 for 1kg, S$21 for 1/2kg) is also a popular option, with many customers getting both braised items together.

The Salted Vegetable Duck Soup (S$6.50) is a very popular side to get with your meal as well. There would be a huge piece of duck swimming in the bowl, with a peppery and sour base for soup.

Hup Seng Duck Rice draws in long queues, especially during lunch hour and could even be sold out before their 2pm closing time.

With their popularity, there is a high chance their regulars will undoubtedly follow. At the very least, it’s just plans to relocate rather than a goodbye to their customers.
