I remember my first trip to Yakiniku Like. As a beef lover, I enjoyed every second of my dining experience—having my very own little grill and an exclusive plate of meat all to myself. Joining the likes of Yakiniku Like is Japanese BBQ Tora, a brand new yakiniku restaurant located at Alexandra Central Mall

At first glance, Japanese BBQ Tora might seem like a restaurant emulating Yakiniku Like. But unlike the latter, which is catered to serve mainly solo diners, Japanese BBQ Tora has more of a communal touch. Each table has a grill that is designed to be shared between two.

Expect to enjoy an affordable yakiniku experience at Japanese BBQ Tora. Here, their sets come with a choice of salad or kimchi, alongside a serving of rice and a bowl of miso soup. Prices start from S$7.90 for their Buta Karubi Chicken Set, a platter with 100g of thinly sliced pork belly and chicken cubes.

My fellow beef aficionados will enjoy their Kin Tora Set (S$19.90 for 150g, S$25.90 for 250g). This platter consists of three mouthwatering cuts of beef, including the beef tongue, short rib, and top plate.

Prefer a hearty slab of steak? Then the Wagyu Steak Set (S$19.90 for 150g, S$27.90 for 200g) will surely tickle your fancy. Instead of thin slices of meat, you will get thicker strips of beautifully marbled premium American Wagyu. A juicy treat that will keep you satisfied throughout the day.

While Japanese BBQ Tora’s set menu might be a sufficient portion to small eaters, those with a bigger appetite might still find their portions on the smaller side. If you are looking to try the other cuts of meat, instead of upsizing, take your pick from their à la carte selection.

Whether it’s an addition of Prime Karubi (S$5.90 for 50g, S$10.90 for 100g) or Beef Tongue (S$6.90 for 50g, S$11.90 for 100g), the choice is yours. So, get ready to feast to your heart’s delight!
