With Korean food being one of Singapore’s most popular international cuisines, it’s no surprise that we’re seeing an uptick in the number of Korean food eateries in the nation. One of the newest Korean stalls on the block is Jungyi Korean Food, which opened recently in the East of Singapore.
Located within the 3838 Eating Place coffeeshop in Siglap Centre, Jungyi Korean Food sells a variety of home-cooked traditional Korean food, including soup, rice, noodle and various grilled meat dishes.
Jungyi Korean Food’s soup dishes include Ginseng Chicken Stew (S$10.90 for small, S$15.90 for large), Beef Short Ribs Soup (S$10.90), Spicy Beef Soup (S$7.90) and Kimchi Soup with Pork (S$6.90). Their Tofu Stew (S$6.90) and Soybean Paste Soup (S$6.90) come with the option of pork, beef or seafood.
As for rice and noodle dishes, look forward to Korean classics like Jjajangmeon (S$6.90), Ramyeon with Egg (S$4.90), Japchae (S$6.90 for no meat, S$7.90 with meat), Cold Noodles (S$7.90) and Tteokbokki (S$6.90).
My personal favourite Korean dish, Bibimbap (from S$7.90), which consists of rice, an egg and an assortment of shredded vegetables like cucumbers and carrots, is also on the menu. Choose from beef, chicken or pork for your protein.
What good is Korean food without some good ol’ grilled meat dishes? Enjoy some sizzling Korean Grilled Beef (S$7.90), Chilli Stir-Fried Pork (S$7.90) or Spicy Braised Chicken (S$7.90), to appeal to your inner carnivore. Seafood lovers can opt for the Grilled Saba Fish (S$5.90), served on a bed of crisp onions.
With the addition of Jungyi Korean Food to 3838 Eating Place, I’m sure Easties will have something new to look forward to.
