If you find Kurasu Singapore a familiar name, you are not mistaken. After a temporary goodbye on 31 August 2020, the premium speciality coffee chain from Kyoto is back to take on our island’s bustling coffee scene.

Moving out from Odeon Towers—the location they previously shared with co-working space, The Company, Kurasu Singapore’s new location at Waterloo Street boasts a larger and more spacious area, warmly lit to exude a comfortable, homely vibe.

Don’t expect to find any food options here as the cafe aims to stay true to its passion for coffees and teas by just serving beverages alone. Beans used at Kurasu Singapore are specially roasted in their roastery at Kyoto before being shipped weekly to Singapore.
Their signature Single Origin Hand Drip Coffee (S$5) and Single Origin Cold Brew (S$5) aside, options such as Matcha Latte (S$6.50 for hot, S$7.50 for iced) and Hojicha Latte (S$6.50 for hot, S$7.50 for iced) are also available for non-coffee drinkers.
For the best of both worlds, try Kurasu Singapore’s Matcha Latte Espresso (S$7.50). Savour the strong, earthy taste of the Japanese matcha as it slowly blends together with the creaminess of the milk and sharpness of the espresso. Every sip is balanced and rich, bringing out the best of tea and coffee altogether.
