If you’ve been secretly honing your culinary skills throughout the ‘Circuit Breaker’ period, now’s your time to shine.
The casting call for Season 2 of MasterChef Singapore has started—from 17 August to 4 October 2020. Remember the finale for Season 1? The epic cook-off pitted Zander Ng against Genevieve Lee, and saw them creating a five-course, Asian-inspired banquet.
Last season’s judges included Audra Morrice who was previously a judge on MasterChef Asia, Chef Damian D’Silva who most recently opened Kin, and Bjorn Shen, of Artichoke fame and most recently, Small’s (an omakase pizza concept). And yes, the grand prize from last season included a three-month internship with these veteran chefs, on top of the drool-worthy S$10,000 cash prize, and a book publishing deal.
Think you’ve got what it takes? All you need to do to apply is head over to the MasterChef Singapore website. Whip up your best dish, and film a 30-second video of the process, and a final snapshot—upload them and fill in the form, by the deadline of 4 October 2020.
Do note that you have to be Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) to qualify, and above 18 years old.
I’ll probably just stick to the home kitchen, and watching others onscreen battle it out. But if you’re confident in your ability to cook up a storm, take a leap of faith and flaunt those skills.
