Who are we kidding? 2020 has been tumultuous, to say the least. While I would love to rehash all the reasons why this 2020 was not all we hoped to be, I’d rather focus on the positive and the future to come. Let 2020 fade into all our history books and let’s welcome 2021 with wide-open arms with a proper New Year’s Eve meal.
To give 2020 the sendoff and ultimate bye Felicia, we’ll need a ton of bubbly, exceptional food and even a gorgeous vista thrown in as well. Luckily, by the New Year’s eve Phase 3 would have already been in full swing and that means we can have these New Year’s Eve dinners with parties of eight! The New Year is looking up after all.
We’ll take all the small wins we can get, so here are 10 places to celebrate New Year’s Eve say sayonara to 2020 and usher in an even better 2021.
If there is any restaurant that embodies abundance, it will be Lawry’s The Prime Rib Singapore. Eat to your heart’s content with their New Year’s Eve 6-Course Set Menu (S$178/ S$198 per pax).
Besides the famous Lawry’s Signature Roasted USDA Prime Rib of Beef, you’ll get to feast like royalty with their selection of mains such as the Atlantic Lobster Tail with Ōra King Salmon and Duck Leg Confit.
Of course, you’ll revel in the other epicurean delights such as the Octopus with White Truffle and the creamy Truffle Burrata.
That’s not all, if you are seated before 4 pm and 5 pm, you’ll get to enjoy 20% and 15% off the set menu respectively. Isn’t a well-priced discount the right way to ring in the New Year? We think so too.
If anyone knows how to throw a party, it’s Andaz Singapore. Here, you get not one, but two places to countdown to 2021—Alley on 25 and Mr Stork.
At Alley 25, indulge in the likes of the Truffle Brie, French Oysters from their lavish New Year’s Eve Dinner Set Platter (S$148 per pax). Or, for a more truly luxurious time, have at their Premium New Year’s Eve Dinner Set Platter (S$188 per pax) that comes with additional Kaluga Queen Caviar, Japanese uni (sea urchin) and grilled Alaskan King Crab. There’s also a stunning view of the Bugis skyline to boot.
There’s also Alley 25’s massive surf and turf platter with crown jewels like Beef Wellington and Patagonian Toothfish that are sure to satisfy. For a top-up of S$48, you’ll get to enjoy free-flow Prosecco, house wines, beers and soft drinks. Or take it up a notch with a top-up of S$68 for Free-flow Delamotte Champagne in the drinks package instead.
If you’re an avid teetotaller, you absolutely cannot miss out on Mr Stork’s S$888 package that not only comes with unlimited premium snacks such as California Maki Rolls and Beef Brisket sandwich. But also, unlimited servings of such luxe like Dom Perignon Champagne, House Red and White Wine, and Andaz Pale Ale.
For something a little easier on the wallet, Mr Stork’s New Year’s Eve Celebration Package at S$178 per pax for their first seating (3pm to 6.30pm) and S$198 per pax (7pm to 10.30pm) for their second. This way, you can ensure you still have some chump change entering 2021, and who wouldn’t like that, am I right?
For those spending New Year’s Eve at home, look no further than Buona Terra. From their Slow-Cooked Wagyu Short Ribs with Polenta and Kampot Pepper Sauce to the ever delicate Sea Urchin and Calvisius Caviar, you’ll be spending New Year’s Eve like the queen or king you are.
The Takeaway Festive Feast At Home (S$178) even comes with a mini panettone, so you know you’re missing nothing by having a night in. Just make sure you place your order one day in advance.
To make it a real celebration at home, add a bottle of Franciacorta Antica Fratta 2013 (S$78) or Champagne Krug Grande Cuvée (S$298) and now it’s a party.
However, if you desperately want to dine in Buona Terra’s hallowed halls, they do have a Dine-in Winter Menu starting from S$88 for Lunch and S$138 for Dinner. It is white truffle season after all, so, get them generously shaved (S$10 per gram) on classic Buona Terra dishes such as their egg souffle or handmade pasta in butter.
End your 2020 on a high note at Arbora Hilltop Garden & Bistro. The restaurant is overlooking a mesmerising view of cable cars that travel between Faber Peak and Sentosa. Indeed, it is some perspective for the New Year as well as the year that passed.
Celebrate the New Year with Arbora’s 4-course New Year’s Eve Menu (S$118) that feature the signature Arbora Rojak and ever-satisfying Baby Lamb Rack that comes baked in herbs and cheese crust. Then, round off your meal with the Chempedak Bread & Butter Pudding.
At Arbora, the fun doesn’t stop with the adults, the little ones can join in too. With an adorable 3-course Kids New Year’s Eve Menu (S$30++) that comes complete with Butternut Pumpkin Soup, Spaghetti Napoli and a single scoop of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Italian food has always been a firm favourite so one can expect nothing least than a convivial Italian affair from Zafferano Italian Restaraunt & Lounge. Prepare yourself for a gastronomical feast with the 5-course New Year’s Eve Pre-Countdown Dinner ($398++ per pax; $348++ per pax for early bird ) or the 3-course Sunset Dinner ($148++ per pax).
Begin with the elegant Sillician Red Prawn Crudo served with Delica pumpkin, yuzu, and oscietra caviar, and indulge in the House-made tagliolini dressed in a tomato sauce with Alaskan king crab. To top it all off, sink your teeth into a well-marbled A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Beef Striploin because you deserve a reward for getting through the year.
For those looking for some hearty Mexican grub this New Year’s Eve, then look no further than Super Loco. Take a laid-back approach to the New Year’s Eve festivities and enjoy a riverside dinner at Super Loco Robertson Quay with a line-up Mexican favourites by Chef Jason Jones.
Sink your teeth on a four-course Head-Honcho set with the likes of Elotes and Carne Asada and imbibe on the four-hour free-flow drinks from 5pm to 9pm. Tickets start from S$240++ for two people, and you can get them here.
But, if a riotous fiesta is what you want then enjoy a 70’s disco-themed party, Disco Loco, ensuring your 2020 goes out with shoulder pads and a lot of glitter. While you are grooving to the tunes of Night Fever, savour the four-course seafood appetisers, alongside contemporary Mexican mains and desserts, and a four-hour free-low drinks session as well.

Talk about a New Year’s Eve dinner with a view LeVel 33 is the best place to take those ‘Welcome 2021’ pictures. An unobstructed view of Marina Bay is the ultimate chef’s kiss you need to ring in the New Year.

Tuck into dishes that toe the line between refined Asian cuisine and comforting home-cooked food such as the Soybean-Crusted Halibut Fillet with truffle pumpkin purée and Charcoal-Grilled Kampung Duck. Then, end off your meal with Po’s signature Pisang Rai — the perfect sweet treat if you ask me.
For our vegetarian friends, indulge in the likes of the Charcoal-Grilled Mapo Eggplant in an Impossible Hot Bean Ragu and Purple Sweet Potato Noodles.
With bottomless pours of champagne, wine and beer it’s going to be a bubbly and mirthful night. In case you are planning to rush off to any countdown parties, know that there are two seatings (6 pm, 8.15 pm) for Pó Restaurant’s New Year’s feast.
For a no-fuss, no muss New Year’s Eve meal, look no further than LAVO Italian Restaurant and Rooftop Bar. This year, LAVO is offering a Surf & Turf Sharing Menu (S$388, min of two pax), with a 1.1kg of Wagyu Ribeye and 1.25kg of fresh Maine Lobster oreganata with truffle butter sauce to boot. With a side of Grilled Asparagus and Roasted Potatoes, you’ll want for nothing more.
Since Phase 3 is a go by the time you have New Year’s Eve dinner, this menu is perfect for groups of eight and sharing.
Not to mention, there will also be a curated selection of the best wines by Lavo’s sommelier available at S$100 per bottle. It will be a happy New Year, alright.
It’s a gourmet affair with Lime Restaurant with PARKROYAL Collection Pickering. With a luxe spread of epicurean dishes such as Wagyu Prime Ribs, Roasted Idaho Potatoes with Gruyere Cheese and who can forget Lime’s signature Pickering Lobster Laksa.
It’s a meal that will leave you rubbing your tummy in satisfaction. There are also vegetarian options such as the plant-based Swedish Meat Balls in Tomato Sauce Pasta made from Beyond patties. It’s not a New Year Eve’s party without some bubbly so make sure you sign up for the Bottomless Beverage Upgrade (S$68) with unlimited servings of house pour wines, beers, Prosecco and/or Champagne to get you in a festive mood.
For Lime Restaurant there are two seatings for Lunch and Dinner with adults going at S$69 per pax and S$139 per pax respectively. If you have tiny tots they are would go S$35 per pax for Lunch and S$70 per pax for Dinner.
