After rolling out their Fairprice Store on Wheels initiative just a few weeks back, Singapore’s largest grocery retailer, NTUC Fairprice is now offering a new service to the masses—Grocery Pick-up.
In an attempt to encourage consumers to stay home and reduce their shopping time, NTUC’s Grocery Pick-up service allows shoppers to enjoy same-day self-collection on selected essentials at five of their participating stores. All that needs to be done is just the submission of orders via a digital or a hardcopy form and a WhatsApp confirmation will be sent to secure your items and pick-up time after payment is made.
To enjoy the benefits of same-day pick-up, orders must be submitted between 10am – 6pm daily and collection should be done before 9pm unless otherwise stated. The initiative is said to last as long as there is a sizable consumer demand and NTUC might expand this service to its other outlets if need be.
As the objective of the Grocery Pick-up is mainly to ease the purchase of basic items during this ‘Circuit Breaker’ period, only selected essential products will be made available for purchase. Pre-ordering of items from the following categories will be allowed with the same set of purchase limits for certain products still applicable.
- Rice, Noodles & Cooking Ingredients
- Bread & Bread Spread
- Canned Food
- Cereals
- Drinks
- Fruits & Vegetables
- Dairy & Chilled Products
- Eggs
- Health & Hygiene
- Paper Products
LinkPoints and rebates, as well as seniors discount on the allocated days, will continue to be awarded accordingly during payment at the pick-up point. However, do note that once orders are submitted and pick-up times are confirmed, no further amendments will be allowed.
With all these alternatives available for us to get our hands on daily necessities, no longer will you be required to camp in front of your computer at midnight just to secure your delivery slot. Let your fingers do the hard work by placing your orders online. Don’t forget to wear your mask and ensure safe distancing is adhered to when you head down to collect your groceries!
