Does the name Paris Baguette sound familiar? It’s a popular place for Korean drama heroes and damsels to share mushy moments with each other. And they have announced that they will be expanding into Malaysia through a joint venture with Berjaya Food Berhad. This would mean that Malaysians can now look forward to breads and croissants from Paris Baguette. The first chain will be opening in Klang Valley by the end of 2022.

The bakery chain will be established in cities across the country, with four more outlets expected to open in 2023.
“Our mission is to create happiness in every bite, and we look forward to bringing Paris Baguette cafes to local consumers here, where they can bond over good food and great conversations. Malaysia presents an exciting opportunity for our brand as we enter a new decade of Paris Baguette in Southeast Asia, and further strengthens our growing presence in the region,” said Mr. Hur Jin-Soo, President of SPC Group who overseas Paris Baguette’s global business unit.

“I believe that with the opening of the Paris Baguette bakeries in Malaysia, customers will be able to enjoy delicious European-inspired baked products along with full meal options, and a variety of cakes,” stated Dato’ Sydney Quays, Group Chief Executive Officer, Berjaya Food Berhad.

As the number one bakery chain in South Korea, the brand has over 3,400 stores and more than 440 locations across 8 countries— the United States, China, France, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia and Singapore.
