Phat Cat Laundry burst onto the scene with a quirky concept and even quirkier menu last October 2016, and now it’s added a few more interesting (and yummy) items to the line up.
I hope that by now you’ve been down to try the Brontosaurus Char Siu Beef Rib ($28), which was a monster of deliciousness. Following its success, the bar has recently added a Mammoth Pork Knuckle Tacos ($36), which would require the help of a few of your best mates.
I loved the ingenuity of the new Kimchi-Cauliflower Gratin ($15) starter, which was a myriad of flavours and textures. The sourness from the kimchi complemented the creaminess of the aburi-style (and massive) piece of cauliflower.
I honestly didn’t know that I could like cauliflower that much.
Another must-try is the latest addition of the Chicken Adobo “Tsukemen” ($18) which draws inspiration from Filipino and Japanese dishes. A slow-braised and thus, super tender chicken leg is served atop chilli noodles and a sous-vide egg.
Dip the noodles Tsukemen-style in the accompanying adobo sauce or just pour everything all over.
Even the elaborate cocktail menu has had a bit of an upgrade with new Eastern Cocktails like the Stubborn Stain (left) and Street Fighter (right), both $24 nett.
Head down early to make the most of the Daily Happy Hour drinks promotions before staying on to splash out on these creative concoctions. Selected house pour spirits, Orion beer and wines (per glass) go for $5 at 5pm, $6 at 6pm and $7 at 7pm.
