Exploring a buffet with chefs slicing meat at a live station may sound satisfying, but wouldn’t it be more enjoyable if the carving experience is brought right to your table? Well, Rio Brazilian Churrascaria at 25 Teo Heng Road does just that… and trust me, we’re only just getting started on this ultimate meat feast.

rio - ambience

This vibrant, contemporary Brazilian restaurant offers guests the full churrasco experience with an endless parade of barbecued meats that just keeps coming — over 16 cuts, to be exact.

If you’re cracking your head on where to head for your next birthday celebration, business function or anniversary, then this modern destination is perfect!

rio - meat

Now, I’m not just talking about bone-in ribeyes or marinated chicken thighs. You can get to indulge in Picanha, a premium rump cap with its distinctive fat layer that is Brazil’s most celebrated cut. There’s also Lamb Leg, Black Cod, and Barbecue Duck, just to name a few.

rio - buffet flow

Think the meats are the only highlights of the show? Think again. There’s also a buffet counter featuring a variety of salads, hot dishes, and a whole range of sauces to elevate each bite.

Churrasco wasn’t intended for small groups. For the month of August, take advantage of their Bring 4, Pay for 3 Promotion promotion. Dine in a group of 4 and simply foot the bill for 3 — it’s that easy!

What to eat at Rio Brazilian Churrascaria

rio brazilian churrascaria - brazilian chef

Keep a lookout for the Gauchos pushing trolleys or carrying skewers of meats. If you’re lucky like us, you get your meat carved by the friendly and smiley Brazilian chef.

rio brazilian churrascaria - meat w grated eggs

We started our journey with the Butterfly Picanha, topped with a luscious layer of fat that melted away almost instantly with every bite. To take it up a notch, the chef grated eggs on top and the golden shavings added another dimension of richness.

The beef was delightfully soft and packed with flavour, making it easy to see why it’s so highly regarded in Brazil.

rio brazilian churrascaria - meat carving

Thankfully, my brief teleportation to beef euphoria lasted a little longer with the arrival of the Ancho Com Osso (Ribeye with Bone). Gorgeously juicy and tender, the marbled meat was every beef lovers’ dream, leaving me wishing I’d taken more than a slice.

rio brazilian churrascaria - lamb ribs

A standout highlight of the night was the Costela De Cordeiro (lamb ribs), which easily earned a spot among my top favourites. Each slab was wonderfully tender with a caramelised surface, and best of all, there wasn’t any of that off-putting gaminess often associated with lamb.

Pairing the Costela De Cordeiro with the mint jelly was like a match made in heaven. The subtle sweetness and bright minty kick cut through the lamb’s richness perfectly, keeping the dish light so I could keep going back for more.

rio brazilian churrascaria - bits of cheese

Cheese fans, satisfy your cravings with the Tri-Tip with Cheese! The beef had mini orbs of stretchy, smooth mozzarella balls stuffed within the meat crevices.

rio brazilian churrascaria - condiments

Having the right sauce/condiment can elevate the experience, and Rio Brazilian Churrascaria doesn’t disappoint. I’m glad each of them were meticulously taste-tested and chosen to perfectly complement the different meat cuts.

rio brazilian churrascaria - vinaigrette

Made with finely diced onions, tomatoes and capsicum, the zesty Brazilian Vinaigrette was the perfect palate cleanser. It refreshed my taste buds between each cut of meat, preventing the rich flavours from becoming too overwhelming.

rio brazilian churrascaria - cheese

We took a temporary respite from the meat and tried the Queijo Provolome Grelhado (grilled provolone cheese). Each piece was creamy, stretchy and utterly delicious — good luck stopping at just one!

rio brazilian churrascaria - pizza

I couldn’t resist digging into the freshly-baked Brazilian Pizza and I’m glad I gave in to temptation. It uses fresh Brazilian Catupiry cheese and is crowned with fresh ingredients like pulled chicken and cherry tomatoes. Each slice was indulgent and cheesy, so it was a pity I had to save room for the rest of the buffet — otherwise, I’d have gleefully wolfed down 1 or 2 more!

rio brazilian churrascaria - sausages

I offer my sincerest apologies to the Linguica De Frango (chicken sausage) because I initially thought it was just a normal sausage.

One bite was all it took to win me over. The chicken chorizo sausage packed a gentle kick of heat, while its divine smokey flavour lingered pleasantly on my palate.

rio brazilian churrascaria - gnocchi

We highly recommend the Gnocchi Of The Day. Each piece was addictively chewy and enveloped in a luscious butter concoction that was creamy and unforgettable.

rio brazilian churrascaria - flan

End your meal with a little sweet treat and order the Brazilian Flan (S$16). It’s a smooth-as-silk milk dessert with a caramel topping, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and sliced strawberries.

rio brazilian churrascaria - drinks

If you adore ice cream soda, then you’ll love the Guarana (S$8.30). It’s a Brazilian soft drink that tastes similar but with a lovely hint of cherries.

Looking for a little tipple to kick-off your feast? The Brazilian Mojito (S$21) is an invigorating lime-infused white rum cocktail with mint that will instantly perk you up.

Who Rio Brazilian Churrascaria is best for

If you’re a meat connoisseur, Rio Brazilian Churrascaria is a meat paradise that allows you to relish in as much meat as you desire. Beyond the bottomless meats, the buffet section also boasts refreshing salads and scrumptious mains for a satisfying meal.

How to get there?
