Small Tables has recently opened its doors at Pacific Plaza on 3 Sep 2022. It’s no secret that Ipoh’s cuisines are on a die die must try level. This is why Executive Chef Sandra Sim went through months of research and development to come up with the best of what Ipoh cuisine offers.
Patrons can expect to be transported to the sidewalk cafes of Ipoh with its use of retro grill gates and condensed milk tin cans as artful decorations.
One of its menu highlights is the Ipoh Curry Mee (S$20++). A hallmark of Ipoh-style curry noodles, it is packed full of ingredients that include poached chicken, caramelised char siu, crispy siu yoke, braised pig ears and skin. To add to its authenticity, hor fun noodles used are made fresh daily in Ipoh with their silkiness stemming from natural spring water.
Diners who want to share the Ipoh experience together can opt for the Whole Fish Otah (S$28++) which features a baked deboned yellow croaker stuffed with homemade otah, or the White Chopped Kampong Chicken with Sand Ginger (S$20++ for half, S$36++ for whole).
The poached kampong chicken is served chilled with white ginger scallion oil around it. The accompanying spicy chilli infused with curry flavours brings the flavours of the chicken to another level.
How about a cup of authentic Ipoh White Coffee (S$7.50++) to wash all that goodness down? What makes this Ipoh-certified is its perfect ratio of condensed milk to coffee, as well as having the coffee beans roasted in the traditional Ipoh way. As a sweet bonus, each cup is served with freshly grilled kaya taiyaki.
Authentic Ipoh food is finally border-free with Small Tables!
