Ever dreamt of becoming the next Zoe Tay or Chen Han Wei? Give Mediacorp’s talent discovery programme Star Search 2024 a shot. After a 5-year hiatus, the twelfth edition of Star Search is set to return to uncover and nurture future stars with the elusive X-factor.
Since its inception in 1988, Star Search has been instrumental in discovering Singapore’s most beloved celebrities. These include Zoe Tay, Chen Hanwei, Chew Chor Meng and more. Zhang Zetong, the winner in 2019, won Best Supporting Actor at this year’s Star Awards.
Star Search 2024 begins with 3 rounds of open auditions on 6 & 7 Jul (Sat & Sun) at Funan and 13 Jul (Sat) at Orchard Central.
Contestants will have to showcase their ability to express different emotions. Thereafter, they will get the chance to flaunt their charisma through physical strength and endurance, as well as their wits and knowledge.

Participants should be 17 – 30 years old and be able to converse well in Mandarin.

From those who pass the auditions, industry veterans will identify another 20 budding stars. They will embark on a 5-month journey with mentorship opportunities and knockout challenges.
What’s in it for the winners?
The champion of Star Search 2024 will get a Mediacorp contract. The top 3 winners will each walk away with a new BYD car.
Meanwhile, audiences can look forward to witnessing their journeys to stardom in a 5-episode series. It will air every Sunday from 20 Oct, culminating in a live Final Battle on 24 Nov (Wed).
