For over 2 decades, Sepang International Circuit has been the cornerstone of Malaysia’s professional motorsports scene, hosting the world’s most prestigious racing events from Formula 1 (until 2017) to MotoGP. By the end of 2025, a new name will join the ranks — Sunway Circuit Iskandar Puteri, Johor’s first-ever professional racing facility.

Strategically located just minutes from the Singapore-Malaysia Second Link and with easy access to Senai International Airport, the circuit is positioned to become a regional hub for motorsport events, lifestyle tourism, and international collaboration.
This world-class facility is part of the larger Sunway City Iskandar Puteri development, a smart and sustainable township that prioritises tourism, innovation, and community-building.
It is expected to become one of Southeast Asia’s most advanced motorsport centres — attracting racing teams, sponsors, and fans from across the globe.

Designed by world-renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke, the 4.5-km main track is being constructed to meet FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A standards, qualifying it to host international events such as Formula 1 and MotoGP.

Tilke’s portfolio includes acclaimed circuits like Sepang International Circuit and Circuit of the Americas, and his latest design promises a dynamic and technical layout, enhanced by surrounding water features that add both safety and visual appeal.
Beyond the main racetrack, Sunway Circuit Iskandar Puteri will offer a full spectrum of motorsport amenities. These include a 1.5-km professional karting circuit, a dedicated hill climb course, a 4×4 off-road zone, and an advanced driving park designed for high-performance driving and road safety training.
Supporting infrastructure will feature international-standard pit buildings, paddocks, garages, media centres, and hospitality suites.

Construction is progressing steadily, with recent aerial and ground-level imagery revealing substantial development across the site. Much of the track has already been paved, while major support structures are visibly taking shape.
Upon completion, it is set to complement and elevate the role of Sepang, offering an exciting new venue that supports Malaysia’s vision of becoming a key player in the global motorsports arena.
