Recently rebranded Superfish, Toa Payoh to close end Jun 2023 due to poor business

With a multitude of closures happening of late, we all fear that our own favourite food stalls may be the next to disappear. For some folks in Toa Payoh, this may just be the case as Superfish will close by end Jun 2023.

Although this news has not been officially announced just yet, one user has taken to making a Facebook post to release this saddening piece of bad news. According to him, the stallkeeper had told him that the stall would close by end Jun 2023 due to poor business.

Having just rebranded around Feb 2023, Superfish was expected to gain more publicity and customers. Alas, the opposite seems to have occurred. With this one outlet gone, this franchise has a single remaining stall.

Online comments shed some light on why folks are not visiting the stall. One of the reasons given was the similarity of the stall’s rebranded concept to nearby King Grouper Fish Soup. Another was that customers found the menu too confusing, deciding to get something simpler to order instead.

One thing’s for sure, many will miss Superfish when it’s gone. How many other stalls sell 7 different soup bases? They even have Vietnamese Lemongrass Spicy Soup (S$7 to S$9 for Small, S$13 to S$17 for Large), which spice lovers will definitely appreciate.

The seafood you can choose would be Giant Grouper, Batang Fish, Fried Dory, Mixed Fish, Lala and Mixed Seafood. Superfish prides itself on providing farm-to-table seafood at affordable rates, so you can bet that the fish is fresh!
