If you’ve been following the news, you would have heard the rather disheartening closures of entertainment venues—which includes bars, clubs and more.
For a barfly like me, this is unfortunate indeed. Where else can I head to for tipples after work, or for an intimate evening out? Beyond the social aspect of bars, I genuinely enjoy a well-crafted cocktail, be it the classic martini, or any of the innovative signature creations that any bar worth their salt boasts.
Well, you can imagine how delighted I was to discover that The Old Man Singapore is offering takeaway cocktails!
Located at Keong Saik Road, The Old Man Singapore is inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s ‘The Old Man and the Sea’ and is just as impressive as the Pulitzer Prize-winning literary work. Even the walls are lined with bookshelves!
For now, even though we can’t partake in social drinking, the cocktail connoisseurs amongst us can still get a tipple or two. Selected cocktails are available for takeaway in glass bottles (delivery cost of S$15, paid to driver separately), and these are all priced at S$17: A Farewell to Arms, The Sun also Rises, Papa Doble, Little Wax Puppy, Negroni, Clear Old Fashioned, Classic Old Fashioned.
Read our review on The Old Man Singapore if you’d like to find out more, and for a teaser of what to expect when we can finally head to our favourite bars again.
Avoid the crowd (social responsibility, people!) and savour a selection of cocktails from this literary-inspired bar—all from the comfort of your own home.
