Miss Bangkok and looking for your next mookata haunt? Try Thai Villa, a newly-opened mookata restaurant located along Upper Paya Lebar Road.

Offering an authentic Thai charcoal mookata experience, Thai Villa specialises in fresh seafood — topshell, cockles, slipper lobster and more, with meat and seafood platters starting from just S$39.

Thai Villa uses two different grills for its mookata. The first is its meat mookata grill, which uses the standard dome-shaped meat grill surrounded by a shallow moat for the soup. Below the dome lies a pile of steaming charcoal, which gives your meat a smoky taste.

Its mookata platters are priced pretty affordably.

Its Mookata Set for 2 pax (S$39) includes more than 10 items, such as marinated kurobuta pork, marinated chicken, pork belly and collar, fresh prawns, a vegetable basket and more.

Eating in a larger group? Try its Mookata Set for 4 pax (S$59). For S$15 per pax, you’ll get to enjoy additional ingredients such as bak kwab, cheese tofu, and more portions of marinated meat and prawns.

If you’re feeling fancy and want to take your mookata session up a notch, Thai Villa also offers Wagyu Beef (MBS 8-9) (S$24) and Foie Grass (S$25) on its a la carte menu.

Onto the star of the show — its seafood platters.

Its Seafood Set (S$59) comes with fresh oysters, prawns, scallops, squid, cockles, slipper lobster, topshell and even flower crab!

To ensure that your seafood is cooked evenly (because you can’t really pile your prawns, topshell and slipper lobster on the traditional dome-shaped grill, am I right?), Thai Villa uses a different grill for customers who order this set.

You can look forward to grilling your fresh seafood on top of a grill grid, which is placed directly on top of charcoal-filled pots.
