The Beast, a popular Southern American F&B establishment in Bugis will be closing their doors on 10 November 2021. After eight years of giving us a slice of the American South with their infamous street parties and open mic sessions, to their weekly live performances pre-COVID-19, the establishment announced that they will not be renewing their lease which is set to end soon.
The establishment brought it upon themselves to announce their closure on their Facebook page with heavy hearts stating that, “Covid was the mother of all beasts that made it impossible to run our place the way we wanted to”.
The Beast also mentioned that apart from the social distancing restrictions, the absence of live music (what they were largely known for), the 10.30pm alcohol ban, and having their outdoor area soon to be converted into a cycling path meant that the “essence and heart of The Beast” was lost.
From now till their last day, The Beast will be running a 1-for-1 Chicken & Waffles promotion, to thank everyone who’s been a part of their community for years.
If you don’t already know, The Beast is widely known for introducing the OG chicken and waffles in Singapore before it became a ubiquitous dish in cafes all over the island. From giving us home-cooked Southern comfort food to seeing many top competitive eaters in the world take on their monstrous Beast burger—the eatery sure taught us to ‘feast like The Beast’.
So, if you’re looking to embrace The Beast one last time, make your way down and indulge in your favourite Southern American before bidding adieu forever. To the rest, please continue to support the local F&B scene.
