For the nosy peeps, you may have heard of the food saga that Wawa Lala Bee Hoon was involved in earlier in Mar 2023. Their branch at Fortune Centre was flooded with 60 one-star reviews in less than 48 hours. This supposedly followed a staff member’s less-than-satisfactory review of an unnamed Vietnamese restaurant that he had dined at.

Wawa Lala Bee Hoon had posted screenshots of the alleged spurious reviews on Facebook. These reviews mentioned items that were not on their menu such as oysters, as well comments that even called their restaurant “an authentic Vietnamese restaurant”.

Concurrently, the stall observed that the restaurant their said staff member visited received “an influx of five-star reviews”. This prompted them to suspect the Vietnamese restaurant of attempted defamation.

Evidently, this minor setback was not stopping the chain any time, and they’ve instead come back stronger than ever with their new joint at Margaret Drive.

Wawa Lala Bee Hoon prides themselves on their big and juicy lala that are especially fresh. Their Signature dish, the Authentic Clam Noodles with Chinese Wine (S$8.90) is a fan favourite. You can choose between rice noodles, glass noodles or even soup only to indulge in the seafood-filled goodness.

Besides the typical white bee hoon, the stall also has a great selection of other lala dishes. Their Power Sambal Clams with Tasty Rice (S$10.90) features sambal-marinated lala and fluffy rice. Many also often mention how big and fresh their cockles are, so if you are a fan of hum, don’t miss on this.
