The 5.4-hectare Cyclist Park at East Coast Park is a one-stop hub for cyclists along the Round-Island-Route (RIR) park connector. Pick from 2 circuits to practise your techniques:
- Learner circuit: A 280-metre track with easy slopes, gentle, contoured terrain and a basic bicycle motocross (BMX) trail. This is suitable for beginners to train their balance.
- Advanced circuit: A 500-metre circuit with exciting features such as undulating tracks, zig-zag columns, and a narrow bridge. This is for experienced cyclists seeking a challenge.
Don’t forget to bring your bicycle along or rent one from Coastline Leisure Park, which offers bike rental services. The 26” Mountain Bike will set you back by S$16 for 3 hours.

2. Fishing at Bedok Jetty

You can fish along the beachfront only in areas without “No fishing” signs. The 250m-long Bedok Jetty (Area F) is popular for its bountiful supply of fish. You might encounter tusk fish, groupers, snappers, painted sweetlips, yellow-striped sweetlips and brown sweetlips, as well as species including mangrove jacks, stingrays, and leatherjacks.

3. Picnicking
East Coast Park has a long stretch of beach where you can spread out your lovely picnic blanket and enjoy the sea breeze. You will be able to find suitable spots along the beach area or in the designated picnic areas, such as those near Carpark C4 (Pits 20C to 24C).
The designated barbecue pits (Pits 20C to 24C) can also be used for picnics if you don’t plan on barbecuing there. Alternatively, keep an eye out for open spaces with tables or benches, especially near playgrounds and recreational facilities.

4. Camping

Pitch your tent and spend a night outdoors at any of the 2 designated camping areas, Area D and Area G. You must apply for a free camping permit at least 2 weeks in advance.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old, have a Singpass account and have a valid residential address in Singapore. Check out the requirements for more information.
Open fires (including the use of camping stoves/portable grills) are strictly not allowed. Tents in the areas must be pitched at least 5 metres apart.
Lastly, adhere to the camping etiquette to ensure an enjoyable experience for all campers.

5. Dog run at Parkland Green
Parkland Green, located within East Coast Park, is a dedicated, fenced area where dogs can run off-leash and socialise with other dogs. It’s the largest dog run in the East of Singapore, designed with community input. It also has a perch on which trained birds can roost.
Opened in 2020, Parkland Green is conveniently located near the underpass, making it easy to access. Do remember to bring a dog leash along in case things get out of hand.

6. Hold a barbeque party

Whip up a beachside feast with your friends or family members at any of the 74 pits at East Coast Park. To hold a barbecue party, book a pit up to 2 months in advance. Spots are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. You’ll have to fork out between S$12 and S$20 to apply for a barbecue pit license, depending on its location. Don’t forget to bring your permit along on the day.

7. Stop to smell the roses at the Bougainvillea Garden

As its name suggests, the Bougainvillea Garden at East Coast Park is adorned with a variety of bougainvilleas that bloom in gorgeous bursts of pink, purple, red, orange, white and more. The vibrant hues create a picturesque backdrop for photos.

8. Eat seafood at JUMBO Seafood
If you don’t wish to eat the raw fish that you caught at Bedok Jetty, drop by JUMBO Seafood for a scrumptious seafood feast. Since it opened in 1987, JUMBO Seafood has become a household name serving one of the best chilli and black pepper crabs in town.

9. Skateboard at Xtreme SkatePark

At 1.4 hectares, the Xtreme SkatePark is one of the largest here and one of only two in Asia that meet competition standards. As it is constructed with a quick-drying finish, you can get back on the ramps just 15 minutes after a drizzle stops. Water coolers and sheltered areas are also available.
Highlights include:
- Street course: Has quarter pipe ramps and roll-in ramps of varying heights. Beginners can cruise through the gentle inclines, while others take on the 3.65-metre roll-in ramp.
