Window on the Park at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre offers a wide range of local delicacies and international cuisines within the restaurant, which will satisfy the cravings of both locals and tourists alike.
It is conveniently situated in a tranquil location amidst the bustle of Orchard Road, just a short walk away from the Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut MRT stations. You can also admire the beautiful view of our garden city through the restaurant’s windows.
Dedicated chefs are kept busy whipping up a spread from morning, day to night. This means foods are aplenty throughout the day!
Window on the Park is naturally lit in the day from its widows that span across the restaurant. You can choose to sit by the window and enjoy your meal while you watch the world go by.
Furnished with tables that will fit the entire family, a clan of friends, or just a cozy place for two, Window on the Park is great for all occasions like birthdays, get-togethers, and quiet ‘me-time’.
What’s greater is the variety of food you can indulge in for hours. These are some of the offerings that you’ll find at the buffet line.
Start by filling your plate with fresh seafood and juicy crustaceans, they are promptly refilled so feel free to eat till you drop. Apart from the scallops, chilled prawns and mussels which will be offered in the day, the oysters and flower crabs are only available for dinner.
Tickle your taste buds with an assortment of sushi, I always treat them as appetisers at buffets. So grab some but not too many or the rice will quickly fill you up – you don’t want to get full from carbs.
If you fancy a slightly more premium choice of food, and love to have free-flow salmon sashimi, then drop by as it is available for both lunch and dinner.
Moving on to more scrumptious local flares:
‘Live’ stations are catered and change accordingly to the different promotions, which makes for an exciting and interesting dining experience when you come again on your next visit.
The popiah station is one of such, and if you’re feeling adventurous, sanitary gloves are provided for you to show off your popiah folding skills. Otherwise, friendly chefs are happy to help.
I packed my popiah with three shrimps and a spoonful of shredded Chinese sausages, which is only possible because I’m making my own and I decide the rules; you can adjust the amount of ingredients according to your preference, like more eggs, chopped peanuts, or chilli too.
Another ‘Live’ station lets you customise your own bowl of laksa — get creative and mix up the yellow noodles with white bee hoon, or add more eggs, prawns, sliced fish cakes, bean sprouts, tapok, or laksa soup, anything that will make your tummy happy.
One of my personal favourite local dish by Window on the Park is its oyster omelette. While the chef uses a skillet and induction stove, unlike a hawker that uses a wok and an open fire stove, the omelette was well fried to achieve a crisp exterior and fluffines within.
Once you’re done with the local dishes, go down the buffet line for these heavier and stronger tasting meat varieties.
Cooked on a vertical rotisserie, the chicken shawarma is marinated with spices and stacked to cook till tender. You can enjoy it alone or with a warm pita bread served at the side of the station.
Lamb meats are minced and rolled into flavourful bite-sized patties topped with tomatoes and chopped mint leaves.
For beef lovers, don’t miss out on the roasted beef sirloin with shallot herb gravy, which has a slightly charred taste and is cooked to medium rare. Cut away the fatty parts of the beef if you’re lazy to work your jaws in getting through them.
A substitute to the chilli crab, the chilli crayfish is equally as delicious as the crab, which is slathered over with a tangy tomato and chilli gooey goodness. I’d fill my plate up with these if not for the wide range of dishes available.
When you’re done with the chilli crayfish, indulge in Indian style curries to fill and warm your bellies up before completing your food escapade with desserts.
Apart from the wide selection of gourmet cakes, tarts and pies, there are also local kuehs, stashes of durian pengat secretly hidden in a small little fridge at a corner, and an assortment of ice creams at the dessert section.
A chocolate fountain awaits both kids or kids at heart, which comes with servings of sweet treats and marshmallows to dip into.
The ice maker lets you DIY your very own ice kachang — the station is filled with bowls of Gula Melaka, different coloured syrups, and ingredients like sweet corn, attap seeds, jelly, red beans to fill your bowl.
et voilà! Your very own ice kachang, almost as good as your local hawker’s, except that our crushed ice were a tad too coarse, which can be easily rectified by calling out to the chefs to show you how to work that ice machine.

A truly satisfying meal at Window on the Park, which boasted a balance of local and international favourites. The local delights were done right and were easily chomped down, which would work best for hungry souls who can’t seem to get enough of the single portions at local hawker centres.
Whilst, the variety at Window on the Park is not crazy huge and dishes are more homely and local than fancy premium, value is the utmost decision factor here.
I would recommend coming down during its 1-for-1 promotions, till 31 August 2016, which work out to be $70 – $90 nett for 2 people and thus makes the buffet more value-for-money for the price paid.
Expected Damage:
Mon-Sun
1-For-1 Lunch (12-2:30pm): $70 nett for 2 adults, $22 nett per child
Mon-Thu, Sun
1-For-1 Dinner (6:30-10pm): $80 nett for 2 adults, $22 nett per child
Fri-Sat
1-For-1 Dinner (6:30-10pm): $90 nett for 2 adults, $22 nett per child
