Just 2 weeks ago, I visited Woodgrove Pasar Malam 2023, located right next to Woodlands MRT Station. Now, yet another pasar malam has popped up in the North side of Singapore. Yishun MRT Food Fair is new pasar malam conveniently located right next to Yishun MRT Station.
The Yishun pasar malam will be happening for 31 days, from 16 Jun to 16 Jul 2023. It will operate from 11am to 11pm, allowing visitors plenty of time to peruse through its rows of stalls.
Compared to the massive Woodgrove Pasar Malam, the Yishun MRT Food Fair is much smaller in size with less stalls. However, it still offered a sizeable number of eye-catching street food.
I was most intrigued to see a stall selling lok lok-style rojak skewers for S$1.50 each. Instead of the usual skewered meats and veggies, the stall offers rojak ingredients, such as apples and cucumbers, on sticks.
I also spotted a stall, named B.A.M, selling satay, BBQ chicken and ayam percik. Most exciting was their Cheesy Beef Steak, a sub sandwich filled with pieces of chopped steak and cheese sauce, for only S$5!

If oyster puffs are one of your favourite pasar malam offerings, you’re in luck — a stall at Yishun’s pasar malam has a whopping 10 variations of freshly made oyster puffs. Try out the classic Minced Meat Oyster Puff for S$3.50, or go for the Minced Meat Salted Egg Puff for S$4 if you’re a fan of savoury salted egg. Vegetarians can also enjoy these crispy puffs when they order the Vegetable Puff (S$2.50).
Expect to find pasar malam staples, including twist potatoes, fried Oreos, fried Mars bars, takoyaki, corn cups, vadai, Thai food and more. There’s also a fruit section, where you can buy quality fruits at cheap prices. I spotted humungous mangoes going for just S$2 each! Durian fans, look out for the tables decked with durians, with prices starting from S$13 per kg.
The Yishun pasar malam also has seating areas for you to enjoy your food, as well as carnival games and claw machines for you to stand a chance at winning prizes. If you’re in Yishun, this pasar malam is worth checking out.
