YUN NANS Stonepot Fish shouldn’t be unfamiliar to you. The first-of-its-kind Chinese restaurant surfaced earlier in Nov 2022, and has since attracted quite a loyal fan base— as can be seen from the saturated traffic at their store in Northpoint City.

YUN NANS Stonepot Fish will be introducing a new variation– the Stonepot Chicken Broth! Straying away from the protein that brought them fame over the past couple of months, the chicken option is definitely a more crowd-friendly option as compared to the fish.

You might be thinking, what’s that straw hat-looking thing? That’s the straw hat that doubles up as a wok lid! If you didn’t already know, at YUN NANS, each granite stone pot is handmade exclusively. By utilising the straw material, the lid retains the heat in the pot for a longer time so you can enjoy a comforting yet delicious warm broth.

Once you’re here, sit back, relax, and watch them prep the show. A sprinkle of smoke churns out of the pot like a fire extinguisher hose with its hinge released. Oh, this was a whole performance.

Lucky for you, YUN NANS Stonepot Fish will be having a promotion from 11 to 13 Apr 2023, with 50% off the Stonepot Chicken Soup. This offer will only be applicable at Northpoint City.

Afterwards, you’ll see the myriad of ingredients added into the soup. That’s good news for us because the best soup includes the most ingredients. In fact, the version served at YUN NANS Stonepot Fish hits different… It’s premium and creamier than most chicken broths, almost like your mother’s cooking, but on steroids!

Unlike what they’re known for, the chicken is obviously the star of the show this time. Bred for 120 days in Malaysia, you’ll get a full-grown premium kampong red jungle fowl chicken in a hefty portion. At the prices of S$39.80 for 800g and S$68.80 for 1.4kg of chicken meat, that price is extremely worth it for what you’re getting.

Apart from that, you can look forward to having delicious pig’s stomach and highland white corn in the soup. I’m not a big fan of innards but the pig’s stomach had no hint of funky taste— in fact it was quite sweet! Perhaps its natural sweetness came from the broth that was cooked for 6 hours. It features several elements like old hen, chicken feet, and duck, differentiating itself from any type of chicken soup you’ve had before.

A word of advice is to not skip the white corn. Boil it in the broth for a few minutes and you’re good to go! It has got to be one of the sweetest corns I’ve eaten in my life; super crunchy and sweet, I heard you can even have this raw.

Please don’t miss out on their hot dishes too. The Stir-fried Wild Porcini Mushroom with Dried Chillies (S$27.90) was so extremely addictive.

Mushroom or garlic lovers, you’re in for a treat. It’s seared with slices of garlic, which you might easily mistake as slices of fried potatoes. Some of the sliced garlic might actually taste like potato though, because they’re fried golden brown and deliciously caramelised on the outside.

Some of the other hot dishes includes YUN NANS Signature Fried Rice. For S$8.80, this plate of fried rice is very affordable for its huge portion. Expect a plate of egg fried rice tossed in a concocted sauce made out of 3 different sauces.

Thinking of having dessert yet? Ha! You’re fooled. This Lychee Prawn Paste Ball (S$19.80 for 8 pieces) will deceive many with its outlook. A bite in and you’ll be mesmerised by the juicy fresh prawn balls stuffed inside.

That’ll complete your meal at YUN NANS Stonepot Fish. Trust me, you’ll be filled here.
