Ah, latte. The magical combination of extracted espresso and frothed milk. While the good ol’ lattes are here to stay, there’s been a plethora of unique flavoured lattes popping out islandwide in Singapore.
Perhaps to the coffee connoisseur this is a big no no and I completely accept that, here’s to all the others who think otherwise, and don’t mind a syrup shot or two added for that extra intricacy flavour. And they’re so pretty too!
So here we go, a list of intriguing lattes you can find on our little red dot.
1. Baileys Latte

Baileys Latte ($7.90)
Baileys is one of my favourite drink on Earth, I mean what’s not to love about the creamy and lusciousness of it. It also makes 101 sense to add that to coffee, giving that extra milky omph to the latte. Some would call that a Bailey’s Irish Cream Coffee, for obvious reasons.
I like them in milkshakes, cakes and now… lattes! It even comes with cute 3D art. Although you can’t really taste the espresso, as with most interesting lattes, at least you can look forward to something definitely instagram-worthy!

2. Signature MI Latte

Signature MI Latte ($6)
This latte was made using their house blend. With gourmet coffee like that, nothing could go wrong and you know it when you have that pleasant nut-like aftertaste lingering in your mouth.
Each sip keeps you coming back for more, and its aroma wafts through the air, enforcing your desires for more.

3. Creme Brulee Latte

Creme Brulee Latte ($6.50)
The serving is pretty generous so be prepared for a huge cuppa. This latte is especially creamy and has a great vanilla taste.
Unlike many other vanilla lattes, you can really taste the vanilla beans, as well as the caramel. Just like that of a real creme brulee.
Three Cups Coffee Co.: 1 Raffles Place #04-31 One Raffles Place Shopping Mall Singapore 048616 | Opening Hours: Mon – Fri 7.30am – 7.30pm, Sat & Sun 10am – 8pm | Tel: 6438 4108 | Website
4. Rose Latte

Rose Latte ($5.90)
Rose lattes are becoming common in Montreal — where I study in Canada — so I was excited to see a place doing it too. The latte tasted very floral and was sweeter than your usual latte, all thanks to the whipped cream. Put in a little bit of ice and this latte is superb to have on a hot day.
Chock Full of Beans: 4 Changi Village Road #01-2090, 500004 | Opening Hours: Tues – Fri 11:30am – 10:15pm, Sat – Sun 9:30AM–10:15PM | Tel: 6214 8839 | Website
5. Roadster Latte

Roadster Latte ($5.00)
The Roadster Latte is one of those lattes that is unique for its extracted espresso characteristics, not for the syrups added in it. Perfect for hardcore coffee enthusiasts.
Chocolatey, caramel-like and nutty all at the same time, this latte is gentle and light. It is something you can sip on easily over long conversations.
Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters: 185 Upper Thomson Road Singapore 574333 | Opening Hours: Mon – Sun 9am – 11pm | Website
6. KuroGoma Latte

KuroGoma Latte ($4.50)
KuroGoma Latte is essentially made of black sesame. As a fan of black sesame, I really loved this latte. It reminds me of my grandmother’s black sesame soup that I have for dessert after a small dinner, albeit milkier and thinner in texture.
At Brew Mansion, the KuroGoma latte is made from scratch too; grounded pure sesame seeds. If you’re a fan of black sesame, you’ll love it!
Brew Mansion: 383 Bukit Timah Rd, 259727 | Opening Hours: Mon – Friday 7.00am – 10.00pm, Sat – Sun 8.00am – 10.00pm | Tel: 6836 2948 | Website
7. Sakura Latte

Sakura Latte ($10.90)
The Sakura Latte reminded me of our local bandung. It didn’t taste much like cherry blossoms but the presentation of the latte certainly reminds me of sakuras blooming in Japan. The latte was more like a float too but I’ll give the ice cream the credit it deserves, purely for its smoothness
Hoshino Cafe: 3 Temasek Boulevard, #01-651, Suntec City Mall, (S), 038983 | Opening Hours: Mon – Fri 8am – 10pm, Sat – Sun 10am – 10pm | Tel: 6836 | Website
8. Sea Salt Caramel or Mint Latte

Sea Salt Caramel or Mint Latte ($3.30)
This is one of the most interesting latte combos I have found in Singapore. Balancing the sweetness with a little bit of sea salt at Coffee Break. Located in a hawker centre, I was really surprised to find unique lattes here, but wow, this is certainly one to visit if you’re adventurous with your lattes.
If you like something sweet, go for the caramel but if you’re into something cool and refreshing, try out their rendition of a mint latte. There’s other flavours like Irish Cream too, definitely something for everyone.
Coffee Break: Amoy Street Food Centre, 7 Maxwell Road #02-78, Singapore 069111 | Opening Hours: Mon – Fri 07.30am – 2.30pm | Tel: 8100 6218 | Website
9. Taro Latte

Taro Latte ($5.50)
Taro lattes at The Lab is one cafe to visit. Made from yam, the homemade recipe offers authentic taro-like latte perfect on a rainy day. It is not as sweet but is balanced by candy given on the side. The cafe is also halal.
The Lab: 1 Jln Pisang, 199069 | Opening Hours: Mon – Sat 12pm – 9.15pm, Sun 1pm-8.45pm| Tel: 6299 5681
10. Misugaru Latte

Misugaru Latte ($6.80)
Misugaru is a unique latte because unlike many lattes, it is healthy. Protein-packed, the latte is made from black sesame, black bean, brown rice and barley. Popular in Korea, this is certainly something you can have to start off your day. The latte leaves you feeling rejuvenated and fresh.
