Think that only Singaporeans are crazy about all things durian? China netizens are just as obsessed! Snack company Lay’s has just introduced Durian Flavoured Chips in China, along with their Salted Egg Flavoured Chips.

The limited edition Little Durian Monster (小怪兽榴莲味 ) chips came with the unique durian smell but don’t really taste like the creamy and pungent fruit. Some Chinese netizens even thought the durian chips were too sweet and greasy!

Like the fruit itself, the chips are probably an acquired taste — you’ll either like it or you don’t. Singaporeans might be more receptive to this unique fruit flavour, but it seems that Chinese netizens aren’t too impressed by it.

If you want to give it a try, head over to Tmall, where the chips are sold in 125g bags. For those making a trip to China, why not pick a few bags up from a nearby convenience store?

Prices: RMB99
