Hello, 2020! The year has just begun and it looks like this will be a year of feasting on international street food with the slew of events that are happening in our little red dot.

Just a few months back, we got news of Chatuchak Market coming to Singapore from February to March 2020 and now, from the Formosa, Ningxia Night Market will land on our shores as part of the Asian Night Market: Taiwan Food Festival.

A mini Ningxia Night Market will be recreated from 16 January to 9 February 2020 at Sentosa, spanning from Siloso Beach to Siloso Point, with more than 30 food stalls coming directly from the popular night market.

Ningxia Night Market also nicknamed as ‘stomach of Taipei’, might not be as renowned as its other counterparts such as Shilin Night Market and Shida Night Market. However, it offers an extraordinary variety of Taiwanese street food with more than 40 years of history.

Expect to savour Taiwanese delicacies ranging from the Flaming Beef Cubes, Taiwanese Oyster Omelette, Egg-bombed Scallion Pancake to the ever-famous Fried Chicken Cutlet and Crispy Salted Chicken.

Fans of Beef Noodles will also be delighted by this popular dish served by the award-winning Taiwanese Chef and entrepreneur, Cheng Cheng Chung.

To spice things up, you will not only be able to enjoy Mando-pop performances by local artists, but there will also be game stalls along the stretch of the night market that are sure to delight all children and adults!


Night markets are a great way to learn about a country’s culture and it’s such a bliss to be able to experience them here in Singapore. Furthermore, isn’t it more exciting that we will get to enjoy all these street food by the beach? Hesitate no more and head to Sentosa when the time comes!
