Hear ye, hear ye; ITE College West‘s canteen stallholders are in dire need of the support of the public as students are away on Industry Attachment (IA) and Home-Based Learning (HBL).

As we continue to live in uncertainty, HBL has become the new norm for tertiary students and teachers. Alas, that’s not so good news for ITE College West’s stallholders because they are left with few visits from customers—which is, in the least bit, sad.

A netizen decided to shine some light on the matter by posting on Facebook on the night of 11 October 2021 (Monday). In that post, the netizen explained that the canteen’s business has been sorely affected due to the current situation, and urged the public to drop by the campus and lend their support. It was also stated that stall owners are struggling to even cover their rental.

The canteen looks as deserted as Old Changi Hospital—akin to a ghost town, if you ask me.

Apart from selling Kopi-O & Teh-O at S$0.50 a cup, former students and folks who’ve visited the campus’ canteen also commented that the food there is tasty and affordable. Some commented that their Malay, Western, and hotplate stalls are worth the trip down. Additionally, the vegetarian stall received songs of praise as well with them stating that it usually sells out of dishes by lunchtime.

If you’d like to reminisce about your school days, I’d urge you to make your way down to ITE College West for an affordable and tasty fare that’ll bring you back. Especially if you’re a former student, you’d definitely know what’s best for the masses to indulge in. Additionally, canteen food has always been the best so let’s do our part and support these folks!

If you’re planning to walk in, you can enter by the gate facing the LRT station as the main entrance allegedly closes after 10am.
