If there was one thing I could never say no to, it would be chocolate. In fact, I’ve spent many days dreaming of sailing down Willy Wonka’s luscious chocolate river. But since the notion of a chocolate river is simply fictitious, why not indulge my sweet tooth at the newly launched Kedai Coklat, in SS2, Petaling Jaya?

The founders of Kedai Coklat are Cocoraw Chocolates, a homegrown Malaysian brand which was conceived in mid-2016, with a simple notion— to offer great tasting chocolates at accessible prices. Initially, the Malaysian brand sold chocolates exclusively online. Later on, they moved to pop ups and six years later, Kedai Coklat was born.

Chocolate lovers will be able to enjoy all kinds of sweets, like the Chocolate Passionfruit Tart, Matcha Black Sesame Tart, Chocolate Terrine, Flourless Chocolate Cake. Can’t decide between chocolate or matcha? Have both with Kedai Coklat’s signature drink, Mat-Cho. The beverage is their version of a ‘dirty chocolate’ drink with a matcha foam layer on top of single origin chocolate.

Instead of the usual sugary compound chocolate (chocolate mixed with palm oil and additives), you will find hand-crafted drinks, cakes, and pastries. The best part? They are made with single-origin Malaysian chocolate from the likes of Chocolate Concierge, Seniman Kakao, and Benns Ethicoa.

Looking for a new place to visit this weekend? Kedai Coklat is the place to be. With all the surge in dopamines and endorphins, you’ll be sure to come out feeling good!
