I may not be much of a K-pop fan, but I do enjoy a good bingsu and gimbap, which is what the new Korean dessert cafe, Gangnam Cafe, aims to provide. Located at Link@896, a mall at King Albert Park, the cafe first opened its doors in late Nov 2022

With its clean and minimalistic theme, Gangnam Cafe is run partly by Koreans and based on online reviews, it seems to hit the spot with Korean customers. It wouldn’t be a dessert cafe without desserts and Gangnam Cafe delivers with its varied bingsu options.

There are flavours such as your classic Injeolmi (S$12.90/S$15.90), Green Tea (S$13.90/S$16.90) and Mango (S$15.90/S$18.90), the latter of which uses fresh mangoes every day. It also has other desserts and Korean street food, such as Hotteok (S$6), a Korean sweet pancake, Injeolmi Toast (S$9.90) and even Corn Dog (S$5).

The gimbap options are also stellar with choices like Bulgogi Gimbap (S$13.90), Fried Shrimp Gimbap (S$13.90), Tuna Mayo Gimbap (S$13.90) and Crab Mayo Gimbap (S$13.90).

Accompany the coldness of bingsu with the spiciness of the tteokbokki with options like Original Tteokbokki with Cheese (S$12.90), Bulgogi Tteokbokki (S$13.90) and the Special Tteokbokki (S$18.90) which has gimbap, dumplings and seaweed rolls in them.

Students get a S$2 discount for all large bingsu with all tteokbokki set.

Gangnam Cafe doesn’t disappoint with its coffee and tea options such as Vanilla Latte (S$7/S$8), Cafe Mocha (S$7/S$8) and Silver Moon (S$7.50/S$8.50)

There are even smoothies such as Strawberry Banana Yogurt Smoothie (S$9.50), Mango Yogurt Smoothie (S$9.50) and Citron Yuju Lime Smoothie (S$9.50) should you prefer something fruity.
