Great news to all Ichiran Ramen fans! Japan’s most famous ramen noodles will finally land in Kuala Lumpur from 3 March to 15 March 2023 in the form of a pop-up store.

This is not the first time Ichiran Ramen is in Malaysia. The pop-up store made an appearance in Kuala Lumpur from 13 March to 22 March 2020. The non-pork-bone ramen dish was sold at RM22 per bowl and was limited to only 500 servings per day.

For those who have no clue about the hype surrounding Ichiran Ramen, they specialise in cooking up Tonkotsu Ramen. This ramen chain gains its establishment in Fukuoka Prefecture, approximately half a century ago. During that time, Fukuoka Prefecture was like the home to all Tonkotsu Ramen.

Their Tonkotsu Ramen essentially consists of springy ramen noodles bathed in a flavourful broth topped with a soft-boiled egg. Even amongst tourists, Ichiran Ramen’s outlet in Shibuya, Japan constantly hosts a snaking queue. Their ramen is offered in a wide range of customisations, from soy sauce, miso paste-based, as well as different broths like seafood or meat-based broths.

Another exciting thing about this pop-up is that you’ll be able to find focus booths, just like the ones in Japan. The cosy booths let you dine comfortably without having to worry about others intruding your personal space.

Ichiran Ramen’s pop-up store will run from 11am to 8pm at Isetan The Japan Store which is located at Lot 10 Shopping Centre. If you’re planning on making a visit, make sure you head there early because there’s definitely going to be a long queue.
