Like its original outlet at Tanjong Pagar, Wano Niku has opened their second branch at yet another unassuming location. Situated in the heartlands at Ang Mo Kio, Wano Niku AMK is about a 5 min walk from Mayflower and a 10 min walk from AMK MRT.

For the uninitiated, the sensational Japanese-owned yakiniku store made waves on the hawker scene back in 2022. Their 100% A4 Japanese wagyu and Kumamoto pork go for as low as just S$9.

Wano Niku’s original store consistently saw crazy queues due to their affordable, quality meat. With the cat out of the bag for Wano Niku AMK (kudos to Ghib Ojisan), it won’t be long before the queue starts to build up at Wano Niku AMK, too.

You can enjoy their signature yakiniku, the Wano Niku (Karubi & Loin Mix) (S$9 per 100g) and choose between original, aka (spicy) and shiro (salt-based) marinade. While rice is chargeable at an additional S$2, you can also get the Rice Set (S$3) that comes with both rice and soup.

For more variety at Wano Niku AMK, you can opt for the Wano Niku Combo (S$13) that comes with 150g of their Karubi and Loin mix (100g), and 50g of either Pork Belly or Collar (Combo A or B). Be it the S$9 or S$13 option, in my humble opinion, spending under S$15 for Japan-flown wagyu is quite unbeatable.

Wano Niku also has more premium sets like their Monthly Special (S$50) that includes 100g of Strip Loin Steak and 50g each of 3 different types of rare cuts of meat.

If you plan to visit as a big group, Wano Niku AMK has got your back, too! Their Family Set (S$70) with a total of 500g of meat contains both A4 wagyu and Kumamoto pork — it’s sure to curb all your yakiniku cravings.

Until 31 Aug 2023, you can enjoy the Ghib Ojisan Special at S$50. The set contains A4 Japanese wagyu rib shin, or the very centre and prized cut of the rib-eye, as well as wagyu rump. What a steal! I know where I’ll be heading to next to get my yakiniku fix.
