The beloved Western food stall, Wow Wow West Genuine, will be reopening in Jan 2024 following a temporary closure that left many loyal fans heartbroken.
The hawker stall, located within ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre, made headlines when it announced that the owners were looking to sell the business due to old age and health problems. This announcement came in the form of a Facebook post on 1 Oct 2023, in which they announced that they were searching for “the perfect owner” to take over the Wow Wow West Genuine brand. At of the time of writing, the post appears to have been taken down.
Now, fans of Wow Wow West Genuine can rejoice, for the business has announced on Facebook that it will be reopening in ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre on 16 Jan 2024, bringing its famous huge portions of Western food back to the popular Bukit Merah hawker centre.
The business did not explain why it chose to return to the hawker scene, and it is unclear whether the owners were successful in finding a successor or if the stall will be operated by the same people. Regardless, it is heartening that this well-loved stall will once again return to delighting its customers with its delicious Western fare.
If you can’t wait until mid January to get your hands on the stall’s dishes again, you’re in luck, for Wow Wow West Genuine has started taking delivery orders! Dig into delicious mains like their Pork Cheese Sausage Set (S$6), Fish and Chips (S$9), Chicken Cutlet (S$9) and Rosemary Lamb Shank (S$15), which are each served with fries, coleslaw and baked beans. Take note that there is a minimum order of S$90.
