One glance at 6 Letter Brunch on Frankel Avenue tells you exactly what the cafe’s theme is. Bicycles, bicycles everywhere, literally, even on the roof! Bike-mounted diners will find convenient parking space for 4 bikes in racks right on the patio.

I found the minimalism in the clean, simple lines of their facade and outdoor furniture to be intriguingly inviting. The spartan feel (and bicycle theme) followed us when we strolled inside.

The only decor to accompany the simple grey floor, whitewashed walls, and elegantly basic furniture design are plants and full-size bicycle-shaped plant holders. Lovely.
What I tried at 6 Letter Brunch
6 Letter Brunch spoils you with a diverse menu that covers a lot of ground. You have rosti, pizza, pasta, and other mains, making it even more difficult for a fickle-minded individual like me to decide.

The eponymous 6 Letter Brunch (S$21) is rosti, Norwegian smoked salmon, sunny-side up egg, edamame, mashed avocado, mixed salad with housemade cucumber dressing, and fresh fruits.

Though the housemade rosti is cooked with healthy olive oil, it still tasted sinfully delicious to me. I found the use of homemade avocado mash a refreshing change (and a less guilty one, too!) from the usual generic sour cream pairing.

Proding the yolk and releasing its golden stream was extremely satisfying. The egg made the rosti much richer, while the salad, as well as the slices of dragonfruit and grapes helped to balance it out.

We were introduced to one of their newer additions to the menu — the BB Ribs Salted Egg (S$23). A slab of battered baby back pork ribs sits atop a mound of linguine that’s slathered in a creamy salted egg sauce.

The ribs were crispy and well marinated, pairing really well with the al dente strands of linguine.

You can also order the Ham Sausage Pizza (S$14), topped with arabiki pork sausages, honey glazed pork ham, tomatoes jam, and mixed cheese.

My only gripe? The cheese was a little too thin to even get a proper cheese pull. I had already gave my feedback to the kitchen — hopefully, your experience will be better than mine.

I also couldn’t resist getting the Salmon Belly Tacos (S$17). Imagine a lovely symphony of salmon belly cubes, chipotle mayo, mango salsa, sesame seeds, and microgreens, all wrapped in a tortilla. I had only 2 words — simply delicious!

Life sometimes works in strange, unexpected ways. Just the other day, I mentioned to my colleague that I’ve never had açai in my entire life, and was curious about how it tastes. Well, guess what? My dining partner wanted to try the Winter Coconut Açai (S$12) on the menu, and I instantly agreed.
The visually-stunning dessert was filled with coconut sorbet and granola at the bottom, followed by açai sorbet. It was then topped with strawberries, mini dragonfruit cubes, coconut bits, wolfberries, and chia seeds.
The sweet and tart açai was flawlessly complemented by the other components — the crunchiness of the granola, the freshness of the fruits, and the tropical notes of the coconut — if only I were on a beach enjoying that!

We also tried the Summer Mango Açai (S$12) which was equally mind-blowing. If you’re wondering what drink to get, go for their all-new Osmanthus Butterfly Tea (S$8) — an Instagram-worthy beverage featuring tea, house-made osmanthus jam, butterfly blue pea, raspberry crunch, and osmanthus flower petals lining the cup.
