REXKL has always been a must-visit for cocktails and craft brews, but now even non-drinkers have a reason to linger. Decker’s has reopened in the Chinatown hub with a refreshed identity, a permanent home, and a menu that makes good on its reputation for the city’s best smash burgers.

Once known as Triple Decker, the brand made its name through pop-ups and collabs that left fans chasing cravings across town. As someone who’s had to wait around for those fleeting pop-ups, I’m relieved the chase is finally over.

At Decker’s new space you’ll find a streamlined lineup of smash burgers ranging from RM20 to RM45. The Decker’s Original Burger, stacked with Angus beef patties, cheddar, caramelised onions, and their House sauce, is a masterclass in balance.
The toasted sesame bun alone deserves a standing ovation, though the richness may test your stamina after a few indulgent bites.

The real head-turner is the Sichuan Chilli Crisp Burger (my personal favourite). Subtle smokiness, crispy shallots, and a whisper of heat cut through the beef’s decadence. It’s not fiery enough for me, but it is addictive.

For sides, add RM5 for fries and a house-brewed drink. Skip the lemonade and go straight for the KL Ginger Ale, which offers a reprieve from all that grease. A palate cleanser, if you will.

Newcomers include Crispy Chicken Tenders in Original and Spicy. Lightly crunchy outside and tender inside, they only beg for a touch more seasoning.

On the sweeter side, Decker’s has teamed up with Sōfte to spin ice cream flavours like Butter Pecan, Calamansi Asam Boi, and yes, French Fries. Butter Pecan won my heart, while French Fries is exactly what it says on the tin. My colleague surprisingly liked it, so don’t knock it ‘till you try it!
If your weekends at REXKL have always leaned more bar crawl than burger crawl, it might be time to change that. Decker’s has made itself a destination worth biting into.
