Contemporary dining establishment Meh’r at 50 South Bridge Road has just announced that its last day of service will be 15 Nov 2025. The eatery was established by MasterChef Singapore Season 4 winner Inderpal Singh, who won the popular reality TV competition in 2023.

In a sombre Instagram post announcing their closure, Chef Inderpal thanked his loyal customers for their support and hardworking staff for their unrelenting dedication. He wishes to end the restaurant’s service on a high note, welcoming customers in for their final weeks before they pull the shutters down for good.

Mehr closure - inside restaurant

Chef first set up Meh’r to share his interpretations of classic Southeast Asian street food, drawing inspiration from the countries he loved travelling to. He further punctuated this personal connection to the restaurant by naming it after his daughter.

This is not the restaurant’s first location, as it was previously located along 42 South Bridge Road. They relocated to the first floor of the CMO Building on 10 Sep 2025 for greater visibility and footfall.

Meh'r closure - bak bak wings

When we visited their old location, we thoroughly enjoyed their creative take on chicken rice called Bak Bak Wings. It’s the inverse of regular Hainanese chicken rice, with the fragrant rice packed inside a hollowed-out chicken wing, and served with a zesty Hainan Banana Chilli.

Meh'r closure - nasi padang

Their unorthodox Nasi Padang is a delectable treat too. It somehow conveys all the flavours of a traditional nasi padang in such a compact package, and without the nasi!

We reached out to Chef Inderpal for comment, and he elaborated on how shifting tides in Singapore’s F&B climate are one of the many reasons why he decided to close Meh’r. “Rising costs, shifting diner expectations, and the constant need to evolve can take a toll, not just on a business but on the people behind it,” he lamented.

Despite this, Chef maintains a never-say-never attitude, admitting that “food has a way of pulling you back when the time is right.” For now, though, he wishes to focus on his family and those who stood close by him, like his beloved daughter, whom he named Meh’r after.

If you wish to savour their dishes one last time, you have until 15 Nov 2025 to book a reservation and head down.
