Transport Minister Anthony Loke shared that the long-awaited LRT3 Shah Alam line is now eyeing a new target date of 31 Dec 2025, although the final call depends on how well the system performs in its ongoing tests.

It is another shift in schedule for the line, which had been pencilled in for September before being nudged further into the year.
The line has entered its last stretch of testing and commissioning, the phase where every bolt and signal is scrutinised to ensure it performs as promised.
This last round of verification is one of the most critical stages for any rail service, and the official date will only be confirmed once every requirement is cleared.
Loke reiterated that the government aims to keep to the 31 December target while acknowledging that nothing will be set in stone until each test satisfies the authorities.
Trial runs have been underway for several weeks with more assessments planned to gauge operational readiness across stations, systems and staff. With just over a month left on the clock, the focus is on completing every check without compromise.

The LRT3 line is set to bridge three major Klang Valley corridors. Bandar Utama, Shah Alam and Klang will be linked through a total of 20 stations (with 5 more provisional stops planned for future expansion), including key interchanges at Bandar Utama for the MRT Kajang Line and Glenmarie for the Kelana Jaya LRT.

The complete list of stations is as follows:
- Bandar Utama
- Kayu Ara
- BU 11
- Damansara Idaman
- SS7
- Glenmarie
- Kerjaya
- Stadium Shah Alam
- Dato Menteri
- UiTM Shah Alam
- Bandar Baru Klang
- Pasar Besar Klang
- Jalan Meru
- Klang
- Taman Selatan
- Seri Andalas
- Klang Jaya
- Bandar Bukit Tinggi
- Johan Setia
In preparation for the big day, Rapid Rail has already hired 956 personnel across operations, technical teams, engineering and support roles. Their job is simple but vital. When the doors of LRT3 Shah Alam line slide open for the first time, commuters should experience a smooth ride that feels worth the wait.
