Ever wanted to take home Song Kee Fishball Noodle‘s fish dumplings? With the opening of Lucky Her Kiao in 88 Horne Road, you can. They bring not just fish dumplings, but a variety of special fish noodle dishes rarely found elsewhere in Singapore!

Fun fact: this isn’t the owner’s first business venture. It’s owned by James Chua, whose father owns and runs Song Kee Fishball Noodle in Block 75 Lorong 5 Toa Payoh Food Centre. James wanted to forge his own path disconnected from his family’s famous fishball noodle stall, so he set off on his own and started his business along Jalan Dusun.
There, he sold artisanal steamboat ingredients, merging premium charm with affordability.

Chef James opened Lucky Her Kiao on 22 Dec 2025, evolving his fish dumplings by pairing them with noodles and soup. Of course, James still sells his steamboat ingredients, which are available frozen in plastic containers. Before I forget, his eatery is just a short walk from Lavender MRT Station as well, so no fuss getting there.

I have no shame in admitting that I drooled when I saw their Handmade Fish Noodles (S$18), which are rather hard to find around Singapore. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to pull stretchy fish dumpling skin into noodle strips? That’s essentially what this dish is. Spongy and gooey noodles pick up aromatic chilli, potent soy sauce, and garlic; it’s a definite treat.
There’s also Lucky Her Kiao’s Fishball Noodles (S$9), coming with a generous portion of bouncy fishballs in clear, clean soup.

These are Lucky Her Kiao’s signature fish dumplings, and they’re terrific. It has the perfect slippery and chewy texture you’d expect and is packed to the brim with meaty filling. These come in a soup bowl accompanying all dishes, and you can also get a box of their Her Kiao at S$12/box of 10pcs. If you like their unique noodles, they are sold at S$10/box of 180g along with many other traditional steamboat ingredients.
If you’re planning a reunion dinner, there’s no better way to impress your guests than getting some dumplings from them. Lucky Her Kiao is already open; remember to head down!
