Imagine a spread of 19 dishes on your dining table. Sounds like an expensive meal, right? Guess what, it only costs S$19.90++! We’re not talking about a tiny portion of each dish; we’re talking about BUFFET servings. If you’re looking for an affordable buffet, Bangkok Jam’s limited-time $19.90++ buffet is not to be missed.

Available only at Bangkok Jam’s Great World outlet on weekdays from 5pm to 8pm, the buffet launch commemorates Bangkok Jam’s 19th anniversary and features 19 signature Thai dishes. If you’re not here for the buffet, you could also visit for a meal during the outlet’s opening hours from 11.30am to 10pm daily.

At the buffet, you’ll find appetisers, salads, curry, and more along the buffet line, but other dishes need to be ordered via QR so that they can be served to you fresh from the kitchen.
Want to find out what dishes you can get for S$19.90++? Let’s find out.

My top picks are the Stir-Fried Thai Minced Basil Pork and the Green Curry Chicken with Thai Brinjal. The Thai Style Grilled Chicken Skewer is also a crowd favourite. Just open up the buffet lid, and you’ll know how popular it is.

Not wanting to incur the food waste charge (S$5 per 100g), I decided to grab just a little bit of each item. You can also find a mix of sauces and chips to accompany your meal.
But of course, there’s no way I’d be having just that plate of food. My colleague Dean and I also decided to order 2 signature items from the kitchen: Clear Tom Yum Seafood Soup with Thai Herbs & Mushrooms, and Khao Soi Pork Ribs Noodle.

The Clear Tom Yum Seafood Soup came with lots of mushrooms, a mix of herbs, as well as fish, squid and prawn at the bottom. Knowing that clear tom yum soup is usually incredibly hot, I braced myself for an intense burning sensation, only to realise that it wasn’t very strong.
For someone with lower spice tolerance, the tom yum soup is just right but those who love the heat may prefer it spicier.

My favourite dish of the day? It was the Khao Soi Pork Ribs Noodle. With crispy fried noodles on top and soft, flat noodles below, there was a pleasant contrast in texture.
However, I couldn’t help but notice a slight alkaline taste in the fried crispy noodles, and that’s where the fragrant curry comes in to mask the alkalinity.
The meat was also incredibly tender and didn’t stick to the pork ribs. I kept on attacking the dish, and within a few minutes, the plate was half-empty!

Want to indulge yourself? Just add S$7++ to your meal for Steamed Seabass with Chilli & Lime, Black Pepper Beef, Moo Ping, unlimited dessert servings and a drink! For 5 additional items, the extra S$7++ is definitely worth it.
If you’re looking for your next weekday dinner, prepare your hungry stomachs and visit Bangkok Jam at Great World! There is a minimum of 2 pax per table, so bring a companion along. If you have young ones at home, bring them too, because children aged 5 to 10 can enjoy their buffet for just S$15.90++!
