Just last week, ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre welcomed a new and exciting addition to its already stacked lineup of hawkers — enter Woksta, a fusion Western hawker with a unique specialty — wok-hei pasta. Newly opened and helmed by passionate Chef Henry, this stall brings an innovative spin to both local hawker dishes and Western fare.

Drawing on his experience working in both high-end restaurants and neighbourhood zi char joints, Chef Henry was drawn to create wok-hei pasta influenced by nostalgic hawker flavours. By tossing the pasta over intense heat in a traditional wok, he imparts a distinct smokiness into every single strand. Think fragrant laksa and spicy curries meet perfectly al-dente spaghetti.

Some signature fusion highlights include Curry Chicken (S$7) which comprises Chef Henry’s signature wok-fried spaghetti slathered in a glossy curry sauce. The noodles are crowned with a generous pile of crispy fried chicken.

Laksa Seafood (S$10) similarly includes wok-fried spaghetti but is instead dressed in a fragrant coconutty, laksa-inspired sauce. It’s accompanied by pieces of lightly fried fish fillet and prawns. The pasta is cooked and served together with strips of vegetables for some sweetness.
All pasta dishes come accompanied by a side of house-made coconut onion sauce and a choice of fried protein.
