When talking about the most established and classic brunch spots in Singapore, you won’t escape the familiar slew of names including Five Oars Coffee Roasters, Atlas Coffeehouse, and of course Bearded Bella, who just opened a second outlet at Hillcrest Road.

We’re surprised it took the wildly popular cafe this long to open up a second branch, considering the insanely long wait times at their Tanjong Pagar outlet, but we ain’t complaining about another great new brunch spot in the West. It’s slightly dry there in terms of food options, so the more the merrier.

Having just opened earlier this month, you can expect a rustic wood-toned space with a pink facade at Hillcrest as most Bearded Bella regulars would be familiar with. More importantly, if you’ve ever had an urge to bring your doggo along to your favourite brunch spot, now you can because they are pet-friendly too!

When we talk about Bearded Bella, many people’s memories instantly conjure up images of one dish—their signature Pancake. Bacon. Flight. Magic. Sadly, the iconic dish isn’t available at Bearded Bella’s Hillcrest outlet. That’s not to say it’s not worth a trip down, because Bearded Bella’s extensive menu will surely have something that will tickle your fancy. For one, I’m a massive fan of their Pain Perdu (AKA Fancy AF French Toast) (S$20) that comes with the most luscious and pillowy brioche toasts that are loaded with a twangy pink guava compote—one of my favourites French toasts, really.

But if you’re a Bearded Bella veteran like me and want something new from Hillcrest, they’ve also launched a new menu that might prove intriguing enough for you to head down for a weekend brunch sesh.

Check out the Epic Brekkie (S$25) that’s truly a meal for champions, the Grilled Cheese and Prosciutto Sandwich (S$20) for an umami-packed bite, or the Almond Crusted Cajun Chook (S$24) if you’re looking for something more wholesome.
