1. Chalk Farm
Chalk Farm has long been one of my favourite cake shops in Singapore, and it’s easy to see why once you’ve tried their bakes. Since opening its doors over a decade ago, this homegrown brand has built a loyal following for its cakes, cookies and even Nonya kuih — but the cakes are really where the magic happens, and the reason I keep coming back.

Their Salted Caramel Red Velvet (S$120 for 9″ Square Cake, Weight: 2.5kg) was our choice for the boss man’s birthday party last year and it was just wonderful. It combines 2 of Chalk Farm’s most popular flavours, the Red Velvet (from S$78) and the Salted Caramel Macadamia (from S$75).
The blurb on the Salted Caramel Red Velvet page says that its 2.5kg equates to 12 servings. I assure you that we finished it in far fewer servings than that – it’s just that good! Moist and rich, just the way I like it.

Their 2 branches have a minimalist look and cosy feel, with friendly, attentive staff. Chalk Farm introduces seasonal treats every month so there’s always something to discover.

2. Cedele
Cedele turns 29 in 2026, and they now have more outlets than years in business — 34 locations across Singapore and counting. The company’s Eat Well – Be Well philosophy drives its commitment to using only the freshest natural ingredients.

Their Signature Cakes include the Carrot Walnut Cake (7 inch, S$72), Red Velvet Cake (7 inch, S$72) and Real Dark Chocolate Cake (6 inch, S$55.70).
Their locally-inspired cakes such as the Coconut Gula Melaka Cake (6 inch, S$55) and Ondeh Ondeh Cake (6 inch, S$53.60) are both delicious and visually creative.

They have an entire Matcha Cakes range that features the very green Pure Matcha Cake (7 inch, S$78) and the ultimate fusion Chocolate Matcha Cake (7 inch, S$80). Cedele’s Special Diet cakes include sugarless, eggless and vegan options.
Oh, yeah, and it’s pronounced suh-deli.

3. Honeypeachsg Bakery
If you’ve ever scrolled past a birthday cake so pretty you forgot it was, y’know, food — chances are it was a Honeypeachsg Bakery creation. This Taiseng-based bakery has become the go-to for celebrities and Mediacorp artistes alike (think Zoe Tay, Elvin Ng and Carrie Wong), and one bite into their cakes and you’ll understand why.

Their latest obsession is the Coquette Cakes collection — think delicate buttercream ribbons, dainty florals and vintage pastel charm, basically what would happen if a ballerina and a birthday cake had a baby. The Strawberry Classic Coquette Cake, Heart Shape (from S$118.80) is a dreamy pick for anyone who wants their cake to look as good as it tastes, while the Baby Pink Heart Shape Cake (from S$118.80) and Creamy Blue Vintage Cake (from S$128.80) round out the trio nicely if pink isn’t quite your vibe.
Beyond the aesthetics, Honeypeachsg Bakery also quietly does something most cake shops don’t bother with: lower-sugar options that don’t taste like a compromise. Their Standard Cakes range includes the Cashew Fudge Moist Chocolate Cake (from S$69), Fresh Strawberry Shortcake (from S$69), Sea-Salt Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake (from S$69) and Earl Grey Lavender Cake (from S$69) — all proof that “healthier” doesn’t have to mean “sadder.”

Where they really flex, though, is customisation. Scroll through their catalogue and you’ll find everything from Cocomelon and Stitch cakes for the kids, to Mahjong and 4D/TOTO-themed cakes for that one uncle in the family who lives for numbers. Corporate cakes, wedding cakes, gender reveal cakes — if there’s an occasion, Honeypeachsg Bakery has almost certainly made a cake for it. I always go to Honeypeachsg Bakery for customising my cakes… above are some examples of what they’ve whipped up for me! Side note: I’m obsessed with their Sea-Salt Chocolate Salted Caramel and Strawberry White Chocolate flavours.
Need it fast? They offer same-day delivery for last-minute panickers (no judgment, we’ve all been there), plus free delivery for orders above S$150. Just remember visits to the bakery itself are by appointment only.

4. Edith Patisserie

A decade after it threw open its oven doors, Edith Patisserie has become a firm favourite on the local cake scene. Apart from a reliably wonderful list of the usual favourites, they also have the most adorable mini cakes. The Mini Bento Basque Cheesecake (from S$19.90) is designed for two — a charming mini cake that offers an understated touch of sweetness for date nights and cosy evenings at home.
With so much intricate design going into each of these smaller cakes, you can imagine how beautiful and detailed their bigger cakes are.

Edith Patisserie takes the most inclusive approach to its creations of any bakery I have seen. There are keto options such as the Sugar-Free Raspberries & Cream Cake (Gluten-Free, Keto) (from S$58.42) while vegans have the Vegan Chocolate Mudcake (Egg- & Dairy-Free) (from S$58.40), among others.
You can also get the refreshing tarts here, like the Mango Blueberry and Strawberry Mini Fruit Tarts – Box of Twelve (S$20.40).
Fun fact: Founders, Ethel & Shaun, met in pastry school, and after several years working in the industry, opened their own bakery in 2013 — named after Ethel’s mum. What started as baking for friends and family slowly grew, through word-of-mouth, into the brand it is today.

5. Cheat Day Studio
If your feed has ever been hijacked by a jaw-droppingly pretty cake with a caption like “customise your bday cake with @cheatdaystudiocakes,” you already know why this bakery has such a cult following. Cheat Day Studio has built its name on artistic, made-to-order designs — think intricate character cakes, vintage lunchbox-style creations and elegant ribbon detailing — all backed by flavours that actually hold their own against the visuals.

Their flavour line-up leans into crowd favourites like Earl Grey, Belgian Chocolate and Honey Yuzu, alongside a rotating cast of seasonal options like Strawberry Cream Cheese. For something a little different, the Hojicha is worth a shot — a roasted tea flavour that’s a nice change of pace if you’ve had one too many vanilla sponges this year.

Best part? You don’t need a big celebration to justify ordering one. Their Bento Cakes start from S$28, perfect for a small desk celebration or a “just because” treat, while their 6-inch Standard Cakes (around S$95, serving 10–13 people) are sized just right for an actual party. Islandwide delivery is available for an extra fee if you’d rather not brave the collection queue yourself.
Send them a text on WhatsApp (+65 8688 3557) to place an order.
6. The Durian Bakery
If durian is your love language, The Durian Bakery needs no introduction. This Kensington Square institution has built its whole identity around one thing: turning Grade-A Pahang Mao Shan Wang durian into some of the most gao (rich) cakes and pastries in Singapore, using their signature SilkyGold™ Durian Puree — a special blend they claim is made with zero additives and an almost obsessive level of creaminess.

Their bestseller is the Signature Mao Shan Wang Durian Mille Crepe Cake (from S$98) — 20 paper-thin layers of handmade crepe stacked with pure MSW puree, the kind of cake that photographs as well as it tastes. If you want something denser and creamier, the Classic Mao Shan Wang Durian Cake (from S$78) comes finished with Hokkaido cream frosting and white chocolate shavings. And for the chocolate lovers who still can’t skip durian season, the Dark Chocolate Fudge MSW Cake (from S$48) layers Callebaut dark chocolate fudge around a rich MSW core.

A much more modest option is the Cloud Mine MSW Cake (Mini 4-inch cake) (S$48). The Durian Bakery’s signature Mao Shan Wang (MSW) filling teams up with fresh cherries and the moistest chocolate fudge that you can find. The result is a heavenly cake bursting with exotic goodness in each bite.
Good know: They run one of the faster cake deliveries in Singapore, with express delivery within 2 hours of ordering, and free delivery for orders above S$100. They also accept CDC vouchers.

7. Butter Studio
The Butter Studio brand is built around the celebration of celebrations. Its founders take inspiration from the recipes of their grandmothers, and honour that knowledge with handmade artisanal treats.

The new Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Cake (S$64.90 for 6 inch) is inspired by the viral Dubai chocolate bar which is all the rage now. This truly decadent cake features layers of Belgian chocolate sponge, filled with premium Sicilian pistachio cream and crunchy kunafa, then finished with a melt-in-your-mouth whipped chocolate ganache. Yummmmmm!

My favourite, though, is the Mermaid Dreams Cake (6 inch, S$68; 8 inch, S$118). Its magical pastel frosting immediately alludes to adventures under the ocean while the series of chocolate fins completes the fantasy. Their bestseller Red Velvet Butterscotch (nut-free, 6 pcs for S$24) is a signature moist red velvet cupcake filled with home-cooked butterscotch and topped with their signature cream cheese frosting — a delightful treat through and through!

8. Bloomsbury Bakers
If local, nostalgia-infused desserts are your weakness, Bloomsbury Bakers needs no introduction. Tucked away in a quiet Bendemeer neighbourhood, this boutique bakery has built a loyal following for turning familiar Singaporean heritage treats — from traditional tang yuan to Teochew orh nee — into elegant, beautifully balanced celebration cakes crafted with refined pastry techniques and an emphasis on balanced sweetness.

A prime showcase of their local flair is the Black Sesame Peanut Cake (from S$58) — a nostalgic tribute inspired by the comforting flavours of tang yuan. It features light charcoal genoise sponge layered with velvety black sesame mousse, rich black sesame ganache, crunchy peanut praline, and a delicate peanut-sesame brittle, delivering an irresistible balance of nutty, roasted aromas and varied textures. For fans of traditional desserts, their iconic bestseller Orh Nee Cake (from S$58) is an absolute must. Originally created in 2015 for SG50, this fan favourite pairs airy vanilla genoise sponge with luscious housemade yam paste and a silky coconut chantilly cream that ties the whole dessert together seamlessly without feeling heavy.

If you can’t commit to a whole cake or want to try a variety of flavours, their bite-sized Petite Tartlets offer a delicious low-commitment way to sample their craft, with creative local spins like Pulut Hitam, Kueh Salat, Muah Chee, and Milo Dinosaur.
Good to know: While they are not halal-certified, their baked goods contain no pork, lard, or alcohol (fish gelatin is used in select cake mousses). Since their creations contain zero added preservatives, they are best enjoyed chilled on the day of collection or delivery, or stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Next-day self-collection and islandwide delivery are available for online orders.
